India should be grateful to Ms Condoleeza Rice for her plainspeak in exposing the lies of Manmohan, his lady Italian boss and the stinking congress over the nuke deal. Jaganniwas Iyer

Please don't write stupid things about the nuclear deal. If the US insists on unacceptable conditions the deal will fall through. In all probability the US will find everything satisfactory when the time comes just as they find that Democracy exists in Pakistan and that Musharaff is actually fighting the Taliban and Al Quaida. So don't worry.
KOLKATA: A Bengali television news channel beamed footage of a group of girls celebrating Valentine%u2019s Day by stripping down to their underwear on AJC Bose Road in the wee hours of Friday.
The channel claimed to have identified the girls, who are reportedly BPO employees.
Although city police have initiated a probe into the case, no arrests have been made so far. They, however, claimed that the revelry appeared to be pre-planned.
According to police, the group %u2014 three girls and two boys %u2014 reached the AJC Bose Road-Camac Street crossing around 2.30 am in an Alto. They jumped out of the car and broke into a jig. Soon, they were seen dancing on the road and making lewd gestures at passing cars.
After a while, they started stripping and a couple of them started prancing about in their innerwear.
The police personnel present at the crossing were completely taken aback. And, before they could react, a crowd had gathered at the spot, gaping at the group%u2019s antics.
Soon, the news channel crew reached the spot and the revelry grew wilder.
The group, now only in their undergarments, made lewd gestures at the camera. They also kept pacing up and down the road and even blocked cars on the stretch.
The curtain came down on the drama when the policemen on duty finally swung into action after a few minutes, shoved the five into their car and asked them to leave the place
This is the reality that the Congress and this Liar PM have been trying to keep from the country. The statement from Rice is quite clear in its meaning and implications. Yet, even now the Congress seems to be sidelining and being intent on selling away the independence of India.
I am a US citizen of Indian origin. Nuclear power is too critical for India to trust exclusively the US to provide. After all India is paying for this. If India can not find two sources for NUclear technologies, may be India should build it, with its own private industry (not government sector).
this is only the latest maong the long string of lies of congressis, and i do mean the indian congressis, not the american congress. again it takes a foreigner (rice int his case) to expose congressi lies.
If your military is configured for conventional war and then gets mixed up in a guerilla war, things might be tough but you've got time to adapt to your enemies. If you get mixed in a conventional war when you're military is tooled entirely for guerilla fighting, you'll get your ass handed to you in about 2 weeks and you won't have time to adapt:
Indian should have confidence for their scientists to achieve nuclear technology. Relying on others, especially US, India will never shining or rise as a real power. Obviously, US is using Hyde Act to control India as its toy. India will shining with indian scientist, not others.

You must be one the jokers who circulate mails which say 35% of all NASA scientists and 110% of all doctors in America are Indians ; not to forget the 30% programmers in Microsoft being Indians.

CarrotAndStick , You are right. Far exagurated figures. Empty vessals makes more noise. Don't forget US is still the land of opportunity for Indians. NOT RUSSIA and CHINA.

US is not planning to control India in any way ... there is no point in reinventing the wheel ... the technology is there ... it is not new technology ... US is willing to share and we don't have to waste time in creating it.
Imagine if we waited for our own guys to develop computers rather than buy designs and technology from US to build them in India ... if that had happened, India would be so far behind in IT.

i feel in the short term it will solve our energy problem but in the long term we should have our own new reactors using thorium as the fuel. we cannot depend upon others for uranium. for eg if India conducts pokhran 3 i am sure India will be denied nuclear fuel (economic sanctions)...so what is the point of making such a big spending on the infrastructure now ?

i dont think it is a question of reinventing wheel - it is how much we need? how much we can provide from our side? what is the best deal that i can get for the rest? blaming our scientist is not a wise thing whereas creating a new nuclear industry without or little foriegn help is good. it is always good to eat within means rather than borow and eat from others.

While US did not say that in paper, the Hyde Act in fact would limited India to develop nuclear strategic force or options. Inventing Nuclear technology is much complicate than inventing wheel. Such comparison is improper and misleading. Fundamentally, India need to rely on indian scientist for nuclear technology. If india focus on developing nuclear technology, I believe much better nuclear deal will surface. If you are waiting on other's food to feed you, the price of food would definitely much higher than you have your own supply, just need something else from others.
