by ram tal on May 01, 2008 07:46 PM  Permalink

Thanks to Arjun Singh, Manmohan Singh and COngress President all IITS and IIMs will join this category due to dumbing down of education in these premier institutions due to VOTE BANK POLITICS. Increasingly Indian Government by Laalo/Baalu/Chaalu and DMK/RJD/Communists (employed by China!!!) are ruling the roost. Poor PM MAnmohan SIngh is remote controlled by more than just the Congress President!!!Whi wants enemies when sucophants like Arjun Singh and Pranabk Mukherjee are around-Umar Ho Gayi par LAALACH ABHI BAAKI HAI??????

the problem is basic
by satya s on May 01, 2008 07:05 PM  Permalink

Its true colleges can be pretty mediocre and the the majority of mediocre students can be a dampener for the few talents out there who missed out.

there are still some enthusiastic students out there who do intweresting projects on their own.

but the basic problem is to concentrate on skills and learning. when are people rewarded for learning asnd working on their skills rather than mugging their way to a grade? the system needs to reward people who try to master a subject more.

also some people have to focus on innovation and capturing the market through superior technology than the mindless rat race of outsourcing. Its these sort of companies who may give satisfactions to brighter minds with complex world beating projects.

Demand and supply
by Fried Yakov on May 01, 2008 06:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The question is purely of demand and supply- as long as the economy has the supply of a large number of people with degrees who cannot be offered jobs commesurate with their qualifications and these people need jobs, the companies are going to play ball. The economy has to grow so that the demand for trained personnel far outstrips the supply- only then will the people get jobs commesurate with their qualifications. Also unless our burgeoning population is drastically controlled, thus limiting the supply, employers will always play ball.

Same Story even for top schools
by aditya tyagi on May 01, 2008 06:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

You are talking about lower rung , well even others have to face it . Lot of luck is involved too.I am an MBA 1st class from Welingkars- Top 20 Bschool in India But the Profile I got in Future Grp doesnt at all allow me to realise my potential. It isnt as dirty as mentioned in ur article but I know I can do much more. This is the reason why people leave companies too. You dont need a bloddy MBA to do all this shit. Any 12th pass can or even a 10th pass! But then even MBA Schools should be graded properly. If everybodys an MBA then this is bound to happen. As an employee you decide ; and if the profile is not worth it then just resign coz you will be able to get a better profile. Clarity and Priorty is Important.

First of all never give money to employers to get employed, simply reject and find some other employer. The thing is people also have high expectations, some times you have to do dirty jobs also, but once you do and rise you will get a higher position somewhere else, presentation of oneself is also an important factor, if you have a personality and confidence, nobody dares to give you this kind of job, and this true with freshers/new entrants to corporate world. Presentation is what matters. An MBA fresh can not be given a high position straight way it can drown entire organization.

Sometimes employers will also test your endurance, how much pressure you can bear to attain a high position. Institute dont matter, any person having good temperament, energy and confidence can reach top. Yeh dunia lies par chalti hai, present karo aur apne aap ko bada batao, surely you will reach top.

File a petition in high court , that working should be mentioned in bond
by indian on May 01, 2008 06:01 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

People should sign a bond only if working hours are mentioned.Actually some employees can group together and file a petition in hight court that a working bond issued by a company should mention working hours. And the working hours should not cross 9 hrs per day.
Definetly if some one files a case pertaining to this, then they will surely win the case because this procedure is practised in western countries.
If there is a law like this, then in one of above mentioned case, the employee need not pay the bond amount if they want to leave in between. Because she was working from 9:00 AM TO 10 PM which is 13 hrs per day.

Good Read
by Sathish on May 01, 2008 05:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is a lopsided article by the author with the intensions clear even before starting the article . The same rediff came out with an India Shinning article some time back with again some arbitarary statistics about salary, jobs, etc from big institutes.

It is a honest appeal to everybody to judiciously resist the temptation of reading bad articles and chosing what you want to read because Rediff has lost the the credibility of publishing only good articles. They publish both.

You are right mate. Rediff is run by extremely bad editors. Many articles are not completely checked for authenticity which should be there for such a large audience. Here you will really see meaningless articles. Their email is already lost its quality and rarely use it. Only luck is keeping rediff alive.
