Murthy's 5 tips for success
by Mr P.J.LAKHAPATE on Jun 29, 2006 11:22 AM  Permalink

Very good article.

However there is one question , why is Mr. Murthy not entering in politics ?

The more the educated people in politics. lesser the chance of curruption.

India is in great need for prevention of curruption.

Murthy's 5 steps for success
by Mr. P.J.LAKHAPATE on Jun 29, 2006 11:10 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Very good article.

All the five steps are always required for any business.

However according to me inspite of all the above steps
one may not get sustained business for a long time.

The most important thing is customer satisfaction.

Even if in diversified business, old satisfied customers will take a chance to test the new diversified products/services.

Thus customer satisfaction lead to a kind of perpetual business in diversified fields.

I would say, the five steps if followed will directly or indirectly lead to Customer Satisfaction. If Customer Satisfaction is focussed, some of the moral values may be overlooked in the process and hence, stick to moral values, and customer satisfaction will follow.

Manufacturing - uneducated job?
by ramanan on Jun 28, 2006 04:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

With due respects to Mr. Murthy, I donot agree with his comments that manufacturing is a job of uneducated persons. With developments in technology (No, I donot mean your narrow understanding or technology) manufactuing is no more a mere routine repetitive job.

Workers are knowledgeble in areas such as statistical techniques, using complex inspection methodologies and manufacturing systems.

It is high time the software industry understands the world outside its parks.

Ramanan you are right to some degree. It is quite correct that the software industry should understand the world outside its park.

But what Narayan Murthy was trying to convey, I feel, is that Manufacturing Industry is able to cater to a wide variety of human resource, Educated and Uneducated both, while the software industry has its limitations with respect to this fact.

Mr. Murthy

I can straight away tell one thing is that INFOSYS development is purely based on TALENT, DEDICATION, CONCENTRATION TOWARDS ACHIEVEMENT, LOYAL AND MOREOVER WHOLEHEARTED EFFORT. Otherwise, where is $250 in 1981 and $2.50 billion at present.

Congratulations.....!!!!! Mr. Narayana Murthy for establishing such a big IT and Software EMPIRE spreading across the world.

Now every new engineering graduates who are coming of their institutes will try first in INFOSYS to become a part of the SUCCESS of this empire in the coming years also.

The tips explained by Mr. Murthy are really inspirational and everybody should follow very keenly, otherwise there will be no presence in this field as technologies are changing very fast just like that....

As your said, the talented (educated) people should not be neglected and they are the primary tool of investment in software industry.

MR. MURTHY........I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST IN ALL YOUR FUTURE ENDEAVOR.

SURESH.

Mr. Murthy I have a query
by Vikram on Jun 28, 2006 01:23 PM  Permalink

Mr.Murthy,
Could you please tell me why do we have something called as BENCH PERIOD in most of the IT companies these days???? I know IT companies get projects on the basis of manpower, but isn't it unfair to make someone sit on bench for few days (may be months in some cases) thereby spoiling and individual's career??? I know lots of things could be done during Bench Period, but it looks good only on paper not practically. An IT Professional's confidence is boosted only if he works on LIVE Projects.

Hi Mr. N Murthy,
Your talk is so good and reflects the current state of our great India. I too accpect that the infrastructure is too bad. Esp. the roadways, when compared to that in US. Why cant we (all CEO's + Govt + Leaders + students) take some initiatives. I am a Masters student in US, basically from Chennai. I am voluntering for any such good action and I am sure, all students in India will help in this.

I want INDIA to be a more developed and respected nation in forthcoming years. Can we start .. I am READY

Regards,
Sundaresan TK

You are undermining the efforts of Mr. Murthy. I agree that its a team effort.

But the team will always look upto someone for guidance and directions when encountered with dilemma, this is where Leaders like Narayan Murthy come in with their morals, courage and conviction.

Remember, if Narayan Murthy would't have been there, Infosys would have been sold way back in late 1980's.
