Good article
by Hemchandra on Sep 01, 2006 11:35 AM  Permalink

Very good article. When in trouble we always tries to point fingure at others, but we ignore the fact that even we can go wrong. 10 minutes spend on reading this article is worth more than watching Kabhi alvida na khena. And above all Rediff article is free... For KANK movie, I spend Rs. 450 (2 tickets + snacks) and 3 hours but ended up looking at my watch.

Funny!
by Kiran kumar on Sep 01, 2006 10:13 AM  Permalink

I would look at learning more... If I would stay there, I would not learn anything... I would prefer moving forward to some other better company!

End of the day it is the satisfaction that I look at!

When going gets tough, the tough gets going
by Ajit on Sep 01, 2006 09:58 AM  Permalink

This article is really good and i agree with the author. Today, with the help of cutting edge technologies and supply of human resources, there is no way one can escape the targets and pressure. One should experience the targets and pressure, mantain time management, learn and grow rather than hopping jobs. At the end when going gets tough, the tough should get going. So be tough!

Don't say bye to your job
by Beena on Aug 31, 2006 02:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I agree 100% that we shud not quit a job and run. its always better to stay back and face the situation, you just need a strong will power. But my situation is somewhat different here, i have a gud job, in a gud co. (1000 crore group), ideally located. now the problem is that my boss has quit and i'm left back without any work to do. The management hasnt discussed with me their future plans and i'm left in a lurk. can anybody suggest wht shud b done? note, its not easy to get a better job than this.

Hi Beena,
I think it is good opportunity for you to show up your talent to your management. I suggest you to meet with your boss's superior and brief him about condition of your dept. and the things who you are managing. Assure him that you can handle the work independently. Take initiative and ask him for pending/new assignments. See..it will work. good luck...

Hi.
What do you do when you have been in a company for 2 years with just one project behind you? what do you do when you have immense thirst to learn and work but end up passing time doing nothing? What do you do when you feel the need to grow in one particular domain but end up being switched from one team to another(Each ofcourse working in different areas)?
Then leaving that company becomes necessary right??
And as far as talking to superiors is concerned, when even they cannot help in such situations, what do you do? I believe these kind of situations do arise in service based IT Companies.

Hello Beena,
As u wrote that you have a good job and only in second line you wrote you have no work in your current company. I dont think that this is possible because as you explained you are belong to "1000 crore group" company. And there are so many things you can do to to improve your company revenue and to improve your skills. In free time you can do Research and Development on your previous projects. Definitely you will get some good ideas from that. Just forget the peoples who has left the organization, bcoz no one is expect to stay forever in one organization. This beneficial to both organization and individual.
My suggestion is dont quit the job , continue with your current job and enjoy working.
