BMTC is not the killer, here killers are IT industries all CABS/Vehicle.Here also police has a big upper hand on them. Have you any time saw a traffic police is cathing/making fine on this CABs. You can only find bikes are caught for this. Traffic police just talk to them in High volume but no punishment. These Cabs driver feels that the road is made by their own money, and only they have the permission to drive. 1. Drives Mid of the road talking over Cell phone. 2. Sudden right/left W/O signals. 3. Honking in the Signal. 4. No patient, not willing to give way to the others. 5. Tampering the Complaint Sticker
Who is responsible for all thees. IT company/Traffic police/Travel agent/ Driver. I think everyone should come up with something before these cab becomes another BlueLine History. Take it as a positive way and find the solution in every City, Not only in Bangalore / Mumbai/ Delhi... Follow Traffic,Drive in Lane, Be Patient, Less Tension, Long Life... After all you are living/doing such thing for a long life ... Happy Driving...

I agree with you.The transport system in Mumbai is by far the best among all cities in India. You take taxi, you take auto, you take the BEST bus.Firstly their maintenance is good-especially the buses, they are all trained drivers ,the management I understand is rather strict ,there is frequent ticket checking ,which I have observed while travelling & their road & lane discipline is quite good.It is basically training their drivers & conductors.I have recently started been driving car & I can now 'observe & experience them'on the road,& generally I find they generally observe lane discipline .I do not find their company on the roads as a source of terror ,as stated by some in Delhi.
Couple of days back rediff reported that Delhi has outpaced Mumbai in terms of developemt and transport! What a joke...
Mumbai development and traffic are ten times better than Delhi's. The buses are clean and tidy with all the BEST drivers keeping traffic rules in mind. Not only Mumbai's traffic much better desciplined but the cops are also very alert as well, something that is lacking in Delhi. The city of nightmares!!

well said i heard in delhi autos dont travel on meter we have to decide how much rent to pay. the capital is pathetic i hope they had given metro rail to mumbai than delhi. it would have been a beter choic

One must be an untter idiot to say that Traffic Situation is better in Mumbai when compared to Delhi.
On every count right from cops disciplining to people keeping in lanes, Delhi is far far ahead. I am a Mumbaite now staying in Delhi. This is when Delhi handles 3 times more traffic as Mumbai.
Who talks of discipline? Even on Main Roads (Dadar Station near Kabootarkhana), where even 2 lane traffic is difficult, cabbies park their vehicles, car wallahs follow them and there is a kilometer long queue everyday. From Prabhadevi to Dadar junction, a distance of 3 kms, it takes 35 minutes on any given week day morning and evening..and please do no blame lack of roads for that. It is just a question of how effectively you are able to put controls.
Same is true for junctions such as Suman Nager in Chembur.
Compare that with Delhi. With so many flyovers, traffic is so much more smooth.
Yes, Delhi has its problems of rash drivers but mumbai bike racing is no less dangerous!

Pankaj, be sensible and do not overflow with emotions to an extent where they become abusive.
Pankaj how many times have you come across the accidents made by BEST?
Why blame Mumbai traffic, just go to Bandra, Khar, Vile Parle, Andheri, Mantralaya region, nereby express highway (Some nicer areas) and you will get your doubts cleared. Just try to take a left turn withouht having a look at red signal and you will be cought by a traffic cop! There are atleast 2 cops at every signal and cross sections to vigil, it's a different story altogether that you can get away by bribing them, but never the less, you try to behave rationally once you know their presence.
Forget about BEST, do you mind comparing aotos and taxis with Mumbai ones? Look at the delipited conditions in which the passengers have to travel in Delhi.

Dear Navin,
No offences meant. I have lived in both Mumbai and Delhi and this sense of frustration is more so because nothing seems to be happening in Mumbai.
People in Delhi suffered for 2-3 years but now they have such a great number of flyovers, Metro. In Mumbai, just to join East-West Corridor, it has taken more than 10 years and even now it is incomplete.
BEST, by any standard, is the BEST bus service anywhere in India and there's no point comparing Blueline with that. Delhi Bus Drivers, Autowallahs and Cabbies are rude too!
But condition of Mumbai Cabs is no better. They are indeed rickety!
As for cops, I would tend to disagree with you. I am yet to see a 2-wheeler driver going past a traffic wallah without helmet in Delhi. In Mumbai, it is common sight. No one bothers.
As for cops being vigilant, I think Delhi is much better. You simply receive the non bailable warrants at home if you have committed a traffic offence and challaned.
In nutshell, Mumbaites in general are much more disciplined but there's complete lack of planning for handling of daily chaos forget future! No new flyovers getting built, no MRTS system in offing in near future...
i think the best buses in india are the "BEST" of mumbai even after such pathetic roads they have less accidents than delhi. high time financial capital of mumbai gets better roads.
this is similar to the private buses of kerala...... the people sitting inside the bus will be praying all the way till they reach destination and seeing a pvt bus coming on road people will stay at a distance....
its really thrilling experience for the killi, driver/conductor,, kerala has now given speed limit to these buses and strict actions taken

I have travelled in Blue line buses and the driver of these buses are not as insane as the drivers of kerala's pvt buses.

I HAVE THE EXPERIENCE OF A TATA BUS OVERTAKING A SUMO DRIVEN AT 90 Kmph ON KERALA ROADS, LONG LIVE THE 'MALLU DRIVER'. MAYBE WE SHOULD USE THIS TERM TO SCARE CHILDREN & GROWN UPS ALIKE....

Have you ever travelled in a Blue Line bus my dear friend? Try once from NOIDA to Dholakuwa. Public transport system of Kerala is much better than Dilli. Blueline bus operaters will treat the passengers like slaves.

The driver must be preparing himself to go to Gulf country. There the roads are broader and with high speed limits. So practice here and drive there.

Seeing and Reading all this..I must say BEST Service in Mumbai is one of the best service given by Maharashtra Govt.
Disha Students Organisation, Delhi and Naujawan Bharat Sabha have started a campaign to mobilize support on the demand to put an end to this menace. Join and strengthen this campaign. Please contact: Abhinav (9213243755) or Satyam (9910462009), or disha.du@gmail.com

We can not put blame squarely on Blueline owners and drivers etc.
The behaviour of Delhi public is very rude. They do not want to pay. Instead they want free ride. if at all, they would settle for Rs. 3 ticket or Rs.5 ticket. not more than that.
Drivers and Conductors have no uniform.
They are not educated
Buses are not suitable for travelling. Seat are too small, patch works are not heard of in Delhi private buses.
Loud Music.
Tickets should have vehicle nos. On the contrary, these tickets are bought from paan wallahas.
There is no time schedule.
Finally very sincere and honest Police and transport authority( No Pun intended)
Trravel to southern part of India. You would find the difference.
the attitude and apporoach of both the public and operators.

Kudos, People power ..I am with you , for you always ..Ask Haroon Yusuf and Sheila Dixit to send their family members and children through these and see how they spend their days thinking if they will come back alive or as a figure reported in the morning papers next day ..Really fed up with this..People do somethingt
I think whatever be the case Government should allow people driving private vehicles to note down and report the registration numbers of the vehicles that flout the limits. It would be easier for them to find out if a particular bus is moving faster than their own speed. The government should ensure that the reporters remain anonymous and are paid at the minimum Rs 500 for reporting speed issues with private operators.Last time I was in Delhi I got fed up with the smaller metal boxes that are called as RTV's - shame on the traffic planners for a city that aims to host commonwealth games to show our failure as a developing nation on the verge of calling itself superpower of some sorts.
Learn from Mumbai Mumbai has 2 times more buses than that of Delhi and managing double commuters than that of Delhi. Learn from them to put the system in framework of rules & regulations, rather giving it in the hand of non-sense private owners and drivers. ____Indiaunwire.Com
