it is horrifying to see the disaster management plan of mumbai! what exactly is the government of mumbai doing? yes, this is a calamity. but that is what disaster management means! having plan A and plan B etc. But I'm sure when the water recedes and things get back to normal, mumbaikars will forget everything and thank gods grace that they are alive. but what about those who are not? this is god's way to nudge people out of thier reverie! it's time the powere hungry, money grabbing politicians of mumbai pulled thier act together and for once the whole circus....opposition and ruling party should unite in thier efforts. but dont we all know what is being planned by both sides?!! and for god sakes! clean the mess you're creating on the roads! you dig up roads faster than all the rats in mumbai and just leave it as is for 6 months-1 year. is it a surprise then you have water logging and poor drainage? shame on you politicians of maharashtra!
Dear Reader, Here Raining started at about 1.00 am in morning on 26/07/05.Raining was so heavy that within an hour all the roads and small cannals were with full of water. In the morning at about 5.00 am i saw the raining continued and flow of water was doubled.Same time wind started flowing heavily .Overall the situation was frightening.Same day River Krishna was almost half touched the famous temple of god ganpati.Today still raining is there but not like yesterday.
When so many Mumbaikars went through a traumatic time, the most shocking is that two of the biggest cell networks-- orange and bpl-- crashed first in an emergency, and 24 hours later are still down.
Large parts of the suburbs were without power for over 24 hours and not one Reliance helpdesk was functioning.
Thanks are due to the much-criticised MTNL, which did not fold up completely and saved the day; and much gratitude to the excellent work done by all the local FM stations.

Dear Deepa, The crash of communication was real shocking. But thankfully in my case it was the ORANGE network which helped....It was fully functional (both incoming and outgoing )all through the disaster. My experience with MTNL (which even we till now felt was the most reliable) was not very encouraging and its network crashed right through Wednesday. Hope your day was not very bad. Vineetha.
I was caught in Pune rains. Not Mumbai.I am from South and not used to such heavy rains. Two rivers of Pune have overflown and most of the bridges under water and some homes near river beds washed away! Atleast our communication lines were not cut as that of Mumbai people. From Haveli Taluka to reach Pune city it took more than 4 hours yesterday!
My friend in Mumbai. No news from her still.Trying to contact her in all means possible. But no use!Her parents from South call me to know her status but I have no answers.I finally got to know she slept in the office through out the night. No news as to whether she reached home or not.
Some of my relatives caught in a train to Mumbai stand at a station for past one day and donot know when the train will start for Mumbai.
I pray God for all people who are affected by Mumbai rains.
......that is just broadcasting news in Sanskrit rather than giving some resemblance of guidance to the vehicular traffic through FM and AM braodcasts and warning people to stay indoors.
Of course, Sanskrit is a great language and all of us Bharat Vasis are proud of that heritage.
However, when one is flooded all around oneself and the car radio or home radio still happens to be functioning, he/she expects some guidance.
Everyone has written about all the tales of horror in the deluge that mumbai has been experiencing since yesterday.
However, our great SEBI has decided to keep the stock markets open, in turn putting the entire employee strength of the market participants based out of Mumbai at great risk. We all know that because of them, no one shall be again in a position to leave for their homes well before the late evening.
Well all we can say is that GOD PLS BLESS THEIR DEVILISH SOULS (NSE and SEBI and NSDL)
From Last Three Days Keeping our Network UP and surving the whole Nation Through our Bank Services.in these last 3 days, 1 and a half day was holiday due to heavy rain in mumbai. But still for other part of our nation we are here. and we will be here till situation cools down.
