After checking many people's opinion I thought to make u aware about certain facts of life.I'm working in a call center. There were few prob's in my family. To earn money i could not get job anywhere coz I had just cleared my XIIth. THANX TO CALLCENTER which saved us from all our prob's.
So plzzzz think before u tell anybody that its not a good place. One more thing night shifts is a bad thing in our culture but let me tell u that the work which is done it has nothng to do with night or day.You dont even realize what's the time outside. You just work n work.Morover in such an early age I came to know so many things about life while I'm studying
2- Technical knowledge not necessary. Basic computer skills suffice. Of course, additional skills give you the edge.
3- Superb work environments. Most of the E-Learning employees are fresh out of college. The environment is young at heart. So, you don't miss college. Very friendly.
4- Climbing The Ladder. Unlike a call center, there is too much scope for increments and hikes.
5- A change. In a call center, all you do is attend calls and solve queries. And put up with the abuse that the foreigners hurl at us. Whereas in an E-Learning company, there is no such problem. Also, there is a continuous flow of projects which ensure that you do not get tired of doing the same job over and over.
6- Decent Salary. Almost equal to the call centers. But with so many extra benefits. 7- Continuous Recruitment.
There are many E-Learning companies in Mumbai. Take your pick.
All you need is a flair for writing, and fluency in English.
The general perception about Call Centers is that only graduates who do not specialize in a particular stream work there. Employees argue : "Why Not? They pay us well, and more than most of the other companies in their line."
What they don't realize is that Call Centers are not the only places that offer decent salaries to a fresh graduate.
Also, why doesn't anybody consider the drawbacks of working in a call center? The Night Shifts. This is the main problem with almost all Call Center employees. They say they can manage all that for big bucks. But that is what it is! Adjustment! An adjustment which makes your whole system and biological clock go haywire!
What is required is the need to explore similar territory. Enter E-Learning firms. E-Learning is big business. And it is high time these fresh graduates realize that. Also, it is easier to work in an E-Learning company than in a call center because of various reasons.
i work in a mnc in chennai and i support american customers the industry is real good and the growth prospects is very high i dont how an iim graduate can make such comments, sometimes it might be because of ignorance. only thing one has to care about is the reputation of the company and the process into which on is inducted
First of all I would like to meet the lady whose son has joined a call center for a meagre salary of Rs. 8000/-. I somehow believe that this lady does not exist and is just an imaginary characted sketched by the author of this article.
I would suggest that such authors should realize that they are writing articles which are going to be read by a lot of people. If you use incorrect facts and then try to prove something, it does not make you a great author.
As for the call center or BPO or KPO or whatever industry, I work with this industry. I can give you a first hand view of what this is industry has given me as an individual. I started off at a salary of Rs. 96000/- per annum and now am close to a salary of Rs. 600000/- per annum. Has this industry made me dumb and lazy, I would say it would be a big NO! It has actually thought me a lot of things that I do not know existed. For instance, you can run 10000 users off a single cluster of servers. This is just one of the very few things that this industry has thought. The reason I took such a vague example is because I know some of the readers would realize that it has thought me something technically.
What ever that is mentioned in this Article is true. Some graduates who are having professional degress are joining call centers with out knowing the work culture and thinking about making some money fore present. and what else, those people are now unable to move from this Job as thay are afraid of getting jobs in thier respective fields after leaving the jobs in call centers as this industry experience adds nothing to the professional careers.
However, on the other hand we should not ignore the fact that there are some people who are working in Call centers for more than 4 years and this profession has been there livelihood. Call Center jobs has brought smiles on lifes of graduates, many parents............
