First of all I would like to meet the lady whose son has joined a call center for a meagre salary of Rs. 8000/-. I somehow believe that this lady does not exist and is just an imaginary characted sketched by the author of this article.
I would suggest that such authors should realize that they are writing articles which are going to be read by a lot of people. If you use incorrect facts and then try to prove something, it does not make you a great author.
As for the call center or BPO or KPO or whatever industry, I work with this industry. I can give you a first hand view of what this is industry has given me as an individual. I started off at a salary of Rs. 96000/- per annum and now am close to a salary of Rs. 600000/- per annum. Has this industry made me dumb and lazy, I would say it would be a big NO! It has actually thought me a lot of things that I do not know existed. For instance, you can run 10000 users off a single cluster of servers. This is just one of the very few things that this industry has thought. The reason I took such a vague example is because I know some of the readers would realize that it has thought me something technically.
