I completely agree with the broader point of the article that everyone has to be treated equally irrespective of their ethnicity or religious affiliation. Although, hearing it from a RSS weekly writer is a new find. I cant understand why he, in a totally irrelevant way, links religion to this topic. Our constitution reinforces equality, but on the ground there will be some adjustments for minorities or low caste, oppressed people. It is common in every country - In USA, even the private American companies and universities implement positive discrimination. I understand it should be made clear that such engineered opportunities should only be temporary, and the problem of creamy layer should be handled. However, ranting about SC/ST quota is absolutely pathetic. Calm down Mr. RSS, focus your efforts on Valentine's day bandhs!

1) President Dr. Zakir Hussain during a Milad mehfil at Munger held on 20.11.1949 said: "It is totally false to allege that Sangh hates or attacks the Muslims. In fact, Muslims also must learn mutual love and respect, co-operation and skillful organisation from the Sangh".
2) Chief Justice Of India Shri Koka Subbarao on 25.08.1968 at Bangalore, said, "Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is creating national consciousness and cohesion-through self-reformation and mental and physical discipline. It has now become a household name throughout the country and everybody recognises the selfless service it is rendering to the people. The Sangh has also been striving to rejuvenate the Hindu tradition-which has always allowed all faiths to be practised without any discrimination. This is in fact the essence of secularism. Therefore accusing the Sangh as anti-secular is meaningless".
3) Field Marshal K.M.Carriappa at Mangalore, in 1959, declared: "RSS work is my heart's work.... My dear youngmen, don't be disturbed by the uncharitable comments of interested persons. Dr. Hedgewar, the revered founder of this great organisation, has set before you a bright example of selfless devotion to the service of our motherland."
SO ALL LOW LIFE VERMINS....CONTINUE TO ROT IN THE SEWAGE OF PSEUDOSEUCLARISM... RSS CARES A RATS BEHIND TO WHAT YOU FOOLS THINK....IT WILL CONTINUE ITS NOBLE MISSION... THE DOGS BARK..BUT THE CARAVAN PASSES

well, you wud learn only if it backfires. Cant you easily see the similarity between the RSS/BD in Gujarat and MNS in Mumbai. Both think they are protecting the "traditional and cultural roots" and commit violence against migrants. Your quote (assuming their authenticity) are fine as RSS was a totally different organization when it started, but go to the streets of Bangalore, you will see how stupidly they march for anything. Again, I have a great respect for Indian culture and I am proud to be part of it, but if you are going to say we are an organization who will 'protect' the cultural roots, it is nothing different from Islamic fanatics defending Sharia as unchangeable god-given law!

'opportunities should only be temporary, and the problem of creamy layer should be handled' be realistic Mr. Arun,it is like asking man eater tiger to eat human flesh for a short time and then to become vegetarian.People are people onnce thay get easy money and opportunities,do you eally think thet will give up after a while? In US problem of majority and minority is not as complex as india, thus it is easy to maintain track and transparancy of these matters. for SC/ST ,encoragment should come through tution waiver, free books and stationary, extra tutions, monthly schollarship and not through reservations.Aid should motivate them to do hard work and should not spoil their habbit(thats how you promot curruption).

Ofcourse yes - thats where the creamy layer comes in - you make it a law to track these developed people and remove them from gifts.
" In US problem of majority and minority is not as complex as india, thus it is easy to maintain track and transparancy of these matters."
well, it is definitely different when India hasnt still cracked down on shameful untouchability and discrimination. There are lot of temples all over India which doesnt allow lower caste and untouchability is ramphant. So, quotas make more sense to dissolve these social injustices than US.
I agree fully with your third point - however they are already in place - tuition waivers, aids, etc. You can evaluate the progress.

The SC/SC quota business has been going on for over 55 years without any genuine benefit to the concerned people. They remain the same even after all these years. Hence his rantings.
