I think that is what we, the people, need to realise about disasters like this. Either you prevent it or you face the consequences. You CANNOT CURE it. Tell me, how many people are going to die of epidemics that will soon break out? The Gods seem to be very angry with Himalayan lands - first it was the Sichuan/Beichuan earthquake, then these rains and floods. We in Mumbai have seen 26th July. I've been out there in the water upto my chin. It's not a nice feeling. We had roads stinking for days after, inspite of a Municipality. Just imagine Lalu Prasad's situation He has turned Railways profitable and his own state, which he let ruin over decades, is now paying a heavy price. Sometimes I wonder if this has anything to do with the recent regime change in Nepal. After seeing the pattern of bad luck of Himalayan lands, one is forced to wonder why global warming has been allowed to go unchecked. Think. Question. Dont forget that there exists a monster called "HAARP". I DONT think this is HAARP, since we have already accepted majority of the nuke deal. I think environmental warfare is not yet regulated like chemicals and bio-weapons are in Geneva convention. USA used rains to great effect in Vietnam war before supercomputers, space weaponry and skynet were invented. Wonder what they have now! Google and read to know more about "weather warfare". Unless food scarcity and medical shortages are the goal, it cannot be HAARP or rain modification. _Please_ don't report for abuse.

Everybody felt bad about Satyendra Dubey. If people like him are shot dead and the _CBI_ makes that a robbery-murder, what is left of law in Bihar? This high-publicity case was during BJP rule at centre. CBI is under Govt control and ABV was PM and National Highway was his project. If Dubey's objections were given attention, other engineers would have the guts to speak out and the project would work well.
In a land where engineers live in fear and cannot change society even if they desperately want to, this is the ONLY result to be expected. Engineer does not mean B.E. "Engineer" means anyone who works hard to solve technical problems with brains.
Sadly, AB was the lone good man who could do nothing. River-linking was promised, started, and then rolled back. It would have made diversion of water much easier if a network of canals was in place. We could have balanced out every disruption in water distribution - no droughts, no floods. Industries dont pay tax. States fight amongst each other. And people die of droughts and floods in adjacent states!! Can there be anything more insulting and shameful to Indian intelligence than this one remarkably constant pattern - droughts and floods in nearby regions?
India needs water-resource engineering to become as lucrative as computer engineering.
Who will make the act of survival a profit-making market? After all, everything is a free market economy.
Now sit and cry when the stock market slides due to poor monsoons.

I suggest that people investing in stock markets also invest in booming healthcare sector. Because people are going to fall sick. So, medicines will be in demand. Supply is limited. So, what you should do is form a few business groups, fix a high price for medicines, rob some equipment from hospitals, then sell them at high price in market. Right now, go and buy pharma shares. After about 2 weeks, when demand for pharma goes very high, wait and watch the pharma share prices go up. When the pharma prices go up, after about 1 month start selling the shares. There will be good demand.
The more people that die or fall sick in Bihar, the higher your profit will be.
If you really want to make a killer profit (literally) send some bird flu and cholera to Bihar. That will put more strain on Govt and more value at Pharma importer stocks. Watch the deaths on AajTak and enjoy the profits on NDTV! Stock market is best. Who cares about the farmers? Are you crazy?
Please, do this, because the stock market is going to come crashing down if the Democrats win the election. They will not fight wars, so they need to put economic burdens on India - that will happen easily if there is a flood, epidemic and poor rains. Our esteemed financial gurus have slight problem around Sept when they are forced to use the word "agro-economy". Long live stock market!
