This article is just a sympathetic article. Lacks the reality check. Getting a job does not mean the employee sits around and earns thousands. It involves hours and hours of hard work. If hard work gets sympathized, then the person really has a problem and cannot produce results in any field.
All the three examples shown above show that the candidates have not their background home-work on the jobs they are doing. The employees are at fault and NOT THE JOB. Accept a job only if you it falls in line with your skills and aspirations. There is no point in grumbling.
What do employers expect from employees? They expect results irrespective of whether they creative jobs or repetitive jobs. And what do employees expect from employers? It should be a challenging job which involves application of their knowledge gathered at the University and a well-compensated package. Getting a university degree is not going to earn you money, it just makes you understand things. More money at the university, the less deserving candidate you are. You just bought the degree, not the skills. For skills, one needs to "study hard and smart".
Its the application of the skills that's going to fetch you money. People who don't understand complain like the author here. Don't blame the job boom in India for that. Opportunities must be turned to advantage.

Well said Manuj.
Opportunity comes with an expecation of effort and risk. If you upto it take it, else leave it. Somebody else will be making to it. That somebody might be happily will be taking up the challenge do it with ease.
Move on for what suites you. If you don't knwo how to dance, don't blame the podium!

With referance to the statement "Getting a job does not mean the employee sits around and earns thousands. It involves hours and hours of hard work. ".....I do not agree that working from 9 AM - 10 PM is called "working hard" ..it is plain and simple abuse. Work should stick to the work timings. So, are you saying that the persons labour beyond 5 pm is monetarily worth nothing. This is not china, pal.

read the 2nd para
"All the three examples shown above show that the candidates have not their background home-work on the jobs they are doing. The employees are at fault and NOT THE JOB. Accept a job only if you it falls in line with your skills and aspirations. There is no point in grumbling."

I beg to differ...the job (the firm rather) is at fault here. In India, a fresher have the options to choose from too many jobs, if he wishes to pursue his trade. And no fresher is going to say no to that bank job (unless his/her dad has saved up tonnes of cash for him). Work timings, deadlines are all set by the management...if the management wants more profits they need to add more staff and not use a fresher till midnight. So again, this abuse would apply to anyone who takes this job..its not the bank job but this 'bank', thats at fault.

The fresher clearly here has "NO REFINED SKILLS" except "MBA knowledge". The firm recruits and excepts results. Being a lady, she is "NOT" supposed to work beyond certain hours and she can demand to work only in the working hours. However, since she is not able to perform, she is doing the unpaid extra hours. She can do the following 1> Talk to management and seek feedback on improvement and a training program. All firms know that with just knowledge nobody can perform, they need additional training program to become fit and survive. 2> Quit and go for another paid job ( but has fallen into the loan pit )in which case, she can still demand the management to help her improve skills.
Its foolish, if the firm expects a fresher to perform fantastically right from the 1st month.
