I always wondered why Indian engineers from likes of IIT's (and others) directly move directly on to pursuing MBA's!! Whereas in Europe and U.S, an engineer is a well trained technical personnel only out to focus on hard core technical work. The IIT'ians I spoke to said they did not learn much during their study there. Infact, an electrical engineer from IIT-Delhi said at the end of the four years, he wasn't trained well enough to know properly the points of an electrical circuit. So guess if IIT'ians haven't done the job well, what can we expect for the rest of the engineering colleges!!

Its nothing like that IITians are taught badly the only differnece is that in india people madly follow the crowds At 12 th class they dont know why they are going to IIT .Only cause everybody going that way so let it be
Then after completing also its the same way. They only see money and where the crowd is going. They cant think this much that they could start their own company by working on one of the core technology
management is in built .you cant develop it by going to a B school. Its only that you move along the flow
PLus here the gradation is pretty bad .A technical person should and a managerial person should get the same amount of money if they have got the same level of experience.Because everybody is behind money only

it wud b completely wrong 2 critisise iit-way of teachin. the only reason y iitians go for mba after graduation is that in india, core jobs r not as attractive as u get after mba.US universities add a little bit of post graduation element in undergraduate courses itself.i feel sorry for ur iit-d friend who doesnt seem 2 hav idea abt electical circuits in d final yr. while there r other iitians who design hi tech robots in their 2nd year itself(if feasible....c it urself at techfests of iits). i m not commenting in d post graduate courses but the ug courses offered by d iits r by far listed in d most competitive ones(ask any US senate member)!!
