As the report says the firs post mortem report was accurate in describing the girl's injuries. However the Police suppressed it for fear of driving away tourists! The CM was apparently involved in the cover up. He said in a TV interview that the first report indicated no mala fide occurence. It was because the poor kids guardians stuck to their stand that the Goa Govenment had to retreat. Shame on the sick people who targetted a fifteen year old.
We have heard a number of incidents involving british tourists in Goa.It is a shame.Britain has given shelter to millions from the Indian sub-coninent and yet we have not heard of any South asians raped in UK.It was the otherway round an indian truck driver raped and murdered a young girl there.Fortunately the culprit was caught and handed over to them. India must pursue this case vigouresly and give justice to the family.Another aspect to be seen is how did a minor girl come all alone to India?Dont we have any system to check movement of people.Goa has become a den for criminals and drug peddlers.This is a national security matter and central intelligence agencies must keep a close watch.We must also review our policy of opening the door for all visitors without having any control on their movement and stay here.A special Tourist Police under central govt is an urgent need.

The girl was there with her Mother and adult friends. It is a pity however that they did not keep a better watch on her and did not warn her against associating with drug users.
Along with the need to punish the accused for this hideous crime the Goa Government and Tourism Ministry should ensure that all tourists are provided appropriate information for ensuring their safety. It is necessary to inform parents to warn their children and to keep an eye on them. It is despicable that a fifteen year old girl allegedly used cocaine. What are all the other monstrosities that must be happening there? Don't hide facts. Bring them out.

I'm afraid we as Indians claim we have a gr8 civilization and value system true enough but today with the advent of the computer and the TV reading or even eduaction is in question! everything is objectified or is consumer related no doubt a mindset that began in the West but with our well heeled travelling all over the world we pick up what is not fit to add to our own good ways or lifestyle.The west have discovered India and the falsity of their life out there and come to enjoy the relative peace but our own corrupt authorities never fail to destroy the land..we need to work as communities with the government and police and not divide ourselves in the lines of caste ,religion and the west and east.
