You are cunningly concealing the other side of the story. Fishermen, for example, were not allowed to get educated and not allowed to switch over to other jobs. So fishermen were compelled to continue fishing by force. Consequently they never climbed the ladder. This changed only due to western education thanks to missionaries. Now I have seen many teachers, lawyers, doctors,etc in fishermen community.

Fact is Hindus need to realize that their religion, being as old and outdated as it is, compiled with the fact that its true meaning has been diluted by ritual, custom and the later corruptions of the Upanishads and Bhagavadgita (which by the way is one big violent blood bath), is no longer viable as a source to reach the Divine. It is now myth/fantasy, like Greek myth and Star Wars. People who wish to come to the living God convert to Christianity. Hindus seem to be getting upset with conversions, because seeing another Hindu convert sets off an alarm in their heads that their own Hindus too find worshiping stones, monkeys, snakes, and cows to be ridiculous. This lack of faith in their own religion is what sparks so violent and aggressive-defensive a response from Hindu extremist groups. Amusingly pathetic. But then again, can one expect a higher level of intellect from a people who can't distinguish between a stone, a creation, and God the Living Creator.

Living God is a myth and very very outdated one. No Iam not paniking for whatever reasons you beleive so.One has to read bible to know it is all but filled with blood bath and revenge even on innocent and non commbatance.Well if God can be represented as a wooden cross ,so to he can be represented in a beautiful murti.Think what would happen to your desendents once they start questing its logic,will they choose to remain christain only because it gives a sense to be in comant of fools.Afterall i have read a saying,christainity is the most stone age belief spread with the use of most modern tools.

I have experienced the true science in hinduism (better to call sanatana samskruti). Have you ever imagined how the soul leave the body. Try doing astral travel you will notice it. Now lets say along with us even you join us in hell,then what,can we then together bargane with God.If yes well and good ,if not never mind,as it is said life is endless in hell,so we will be having lots of time.Lets say he excepts are petition and grants us heaven,then will we allow to take our loved ones from hell to heaven,then in return can our loved one take their family members and so on.

First you guys stop abusing others and get over this inferiority complex.I would always openely support the conversion of tribals or other downtrodden caste people to christianaity. Forget whether Jesus helps them or not.The church helps them and their life is getting a facelift.It is much better to be part of a global christian community than to be illtreated,enslaved and seen as a subhuman by the fellow hindus.

Seen as a subhuman says who?Tribals are tribals with their own laws and rules,which hindus do not interfere in.It is government of India which has increased the literacy leave of all of us after indepence,not the british or christains.What you are trying to say is since they are poor,they should not or they have no right to practise their religion their culture they should convert.They should convert even when christains have prevented governemnt from opening schools in their strong hold,even when they are preventing hindus from openeing schools over there?Then my question is why should'nt black and all the natives be it of USA,Canada,south america,middle america and australia convert to islam both for money sake as well as belonging to the larger community of "Umma".

Hinduism was never a religion. It was a social order. Hindutva is not about hinduism its about looking at the world in a particular way that some people think is Indian. Hinduism or paganism existed all the way from arabaia to the northern tip of australia. Geo-political and religious changes occur over a period of hundreds of years. So in the past few hundred years hinduism has been limited to a very small land mass in the world. It has been on the decline from hundreds of years and its still declining because hinduism does not offer an ideology. The best arguments made by hindus is that Xians are evil, Islam is evil and thats why you should be hindu. :-) Well this wont stop the decline of hinduism. One has to accept that hinduism is on its last leg after a marathon run of thousands of years. How many of you think that hinduism would be dominant religion after 100 years in India ? No one. Its a constant process of messages conveyed by way of media that will change the way a common indian thinks.

Religion is not meant for benefits...if one religion gives u more benefit and dignity in society it doesnt mean u should jump in to that religion. Religion is just a way of life....like different rivers follow different paths to reach the ocean... Remember, lot of illiterates only have got converted to christianity in Africa/Asia...and few literates like you have got in because of many favours Ocean water may look like reducing while evapourating...but it can raise the level when heavy rains pour...so Hinduism have grown and will grow like Ocean water...dont worry

Torchlight your ranting against other religions does not make sense. Hindus inspite of having moved out from India about 150-200 years back to places in Africa, West Indies, Europe etc. could never convince the local populace to convert. Rather many of them got converted to Christainity and Islam. In the 1960' the West started taking note of Hindu practices thanks to charlatans like Mahesh Yogi, Osho and the rest. Instead of Hinduism gaining ground these yogis left an indelible mark of being crooks out to win a quick buck and their self aggrandisement led to dissillusionment and failed to motivate the majority. Even today what you see in the US and other parts of the world outside India is VHP/RSS style of Hinduism. This will never resonate with the locals as they are looking for solutions to their problems and day to day lives rather than in proving which religion is greater than the other. That is why the only religion that addresses these issues is Christianity which has the largest numbers and is most practised worldwide. Hinduism has to get out of its mould of segregation and be more inclusive to attract people or else it will remain a regionalized faith with only Indians practising it.

Hey Ace..Hinduism is dominant and growing in every way...maybe not as a brand name..seriously no one even believes some Jewish rabbi who died on a cross can bail your ass out to some imaginary heaven...however, Christianity today has some relevance in US where it is the only force that can match Islam for cruelty and fanaticism...Christians & Muslims have been fighting in the name of God for centuries and have put God in a box. The sooner these are gone the less people go on Jihad and Crusade. Only Hinduism and the Eastern religions can provide spirituality to the human heart.

Do you call slavery and anihilation of natives to be civilisation ?Well the Romans and greek were indeed barbaric,since their own and our people testemony is their for us to read.Its for no reason yavans were called barbaric(alexarender included).But christains even have betean that record,for few christains fead to animals,they burned millions who did not convert,dashed out heads of many children,took captives many natives children in boarding schools order to teach the natives a lesson or two.You can read this in todays news regarding australia.But you will not attribute these crimes to christainity but to bad christains.
