China hacking
by Bodh Ramdeo on Oct 19, 2007 06:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Indians are past mastewrs at empty boasting but when put to the test, always come up short - way short. With all the IT-experts and Scientists they keep boasting about, it'd be mind-bogglingly amazing to find out that the folks on Raisina Hill haven't yet set up a dedidcated unit just to hack into every gamut of the Chinese systems -the usual incompetence, ineptutude and chalta hai attitude?

I'll tell you something .. There are some fantastic and brilliant Indian Academics/Professors/Technologists ... Nobody questions that///

Mark my words.. tehre is nothing to suggest that the Indian IT/SW strength is world class or can provide a defence or attack in a global crisis. In the future Countries will bring down Stockk Exchange Servers, Central Banks, national Security sites like armed attacks etc.,, We really dont know wjere India stands in it ..

Definitely ... Infosys or TCS are not a yardstick ..They are plain commercial companies doing stuff for foreigners ..

Ground realities for Indians
by D S on Oct 19, 2007 06:34 PM  Permalink

Russians bastar##dized the entire Khazkistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaikan... for their use. Now the Turkish, Russians and West are claiming it. Russian & China made CIS conclave to keep it. Aganistan was almost in grips of Russia and now they have to decide between Arabic Talibanization or Westernization. These are groud realities.
We Indians don't have massive land at our disposal such as AUz, Americas... We have difficulty defending what have. We let Bangladesh go away when it came our way so it can become terrorist base for future. Our next generations can see where we went wrong...

Rising from being under-priviledged...Unrealistic

You mentioned about biscuits. Dog training & taming can even work on humans. Indians need to see ground realities and yet strive to fix the wrong that our ancestors failed i.e build something very Indian and ward of attempt to break our unity & fraternity with All Indians at all cost. We need intellect to bring back unity because world realities put us in difficult/deprived position today. We don't have massive lands of Americas, Auz, NZ or Tibet at our disposal. Even Pakistan, Burma & Sri-Lanka is done. We face visa ristriction even in some African places, does not matter if we Indian origin people are citizen of Japan.

It amazes me how they control Aborginals like Symonds into their norms and ofcource even the Indians in in their cricket teams. But for Indians, they trained loyalty/respect for themselves but hatred/distrust for each other.

Good Points.. My thinking is the same ..

We tend to lose focus on minor matters ... We are happy with the success of few companies.. IN the USA/UK the biggest companies produce the best of technology/arms/Aewrospace .. How many of our Companies are made to produce hi-tech items?

Our technical capabilities
by Jackson on Oct 19, 2007 05:33 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

They are not that big.. we produce mass numbers but i think the quality is tehre only in few (IITs and few others). I know for a fact that Russian and Serbs are higher league S?W expertise wise .. Lack of English is their problem.

We must remember, the failure of our intelligence to decode LTTE messages could not prevent Rajiv's murder .. meaning engineers in the Jungle encrypted a message through wireless which our best brains could not decrypt.

Top IQ levels in the world:
1. Jews
2. Chinese and Japanese
3. Caucasians(Russians, Serbs etc)
4. Americans
5. Srilanka, India, Pakistan
6. Arabs
7. Sub Saharan Africa
Very little difference between the top three. The rest are way below. According to a famous survey, the name of which I do not recollect.

Don't Agree, In comparison IQ is like wealth.Take any place in the world ,there are Rich and poor people, same as more IQ and less IQ people in each places. It is not related to Grace, region, country etc... It is defined by God.

I disagree ..

In the UK chinese top, followed closely by Indians (academics).

IN the USA, Indians tops..

IN Singapore/Malaysia Ceylonese (Tamils) are as good if not above Chinese Academically ..

We cant generalise.. All I can say is we need to stay focus and not get complacent .. Running a couple of IT/BPO companies mean nothing .. We need to demonstrate technical competence ...

Regardless of how our dear Karat and Yechuri toot their red horns, China,a Maoist cradle, is committed to only one thing - domination of Han race. How they do it is anybody's guess.

Hackers do attack, no matter what you do to protect your precious systems. It's their job. They are some of the most creative people on the planet. Put yourself in their shoes and think like them. May their tribe increase in India to keep these sarkari minds sharp and alert :)

In the face of such elements exposing its vulnerabilities, may be the 'IT giant' ie., India should do something about it quietly :)

All my friends here just talk in thin air. They do not think. They oppose every action of the left becoz they are supporters of a communal political party which has a different agenda from the left's. So naive Indians are. Do not want to understand the intricacies of an issue, the pros and cons. they Just talk in thin air about parties, knowing absolutely nothing about development, the real kind! Just talk of Ram and religion by any party, and they get worked up. These ppl here are literate I believed. I thought only the multiple illiterates i India fell for Ram trap. I was wrong. Even the so-called educated folks do not seem to understand the high pronciples and agenda of the Left.

Mr.Amit Arora, the Nuclear deal is more beneficial to the US companies and some Indian politicians who can get kick-back. That is why the PM is upset about the delay in concluding the deal. The US had denied us fuel for a small plant of about 300 MW at Tarapur. What would be the fate of the proposed large plants if the US denies us fuel? We have enough coal for running Thermal Power Plants for producing electricity for another 50 years. So there is no need to conclude the deal hastily. Otherwise it would be the same story as of Enron and MSEB (conclude deal in haste and repent at leisure).

As regards support of China in 1962, the communists did not support them, but merely stated that the war is over a disputed territory which they call as theirs and we call as ours. The Chinese Govt was not a party to the demarcation of border (McMohan Line) and have right to dispute.

China is prime threat to India and we are not preparing our self the way ,we should do .We are simply happy with temporary truce at our borders.Goverment is not showing necessary concerns,it is clear that we are still a novice in military planning and execution, our RAW is still a RAW only.Bangladesh,Pakistan,Burma ,a small but stratgic island in Arabian Sea by chinese navy and further to add problem in Nepal are not still really understood by our so called experts and same are not reflected in our foreign policy statements and military preparedness. All these are wake calls and chines as usual will only are waiting to surprise us at right time.Let no body be fool enough not to misunderstand this that even after almost 50 years of 1962,chines have not accepted even a single plea/claim by India officially. It means that war is at our door steps and we are still fast asleep.Military preparedness, strong intelligence ,strong postures toward china and very close watch on political parties supporting china are necessary at once with a second thought.why Indian general are holding military excercises in our esatern sectors if we are legitimate owners of that land why we nervous of doing that .why we are afraid of china.certainly we are far behind the minimum level of acceptance.Let us wake up fast without further delay.

Mr.Nagarajan, communist bashing is like a contagious disease in India. They are the only plitical parties have atleast a semblence of self-respect. What moral authority is there for a grand old party (?) with an Italian at the helm of affair or a party invoking the name of non-existent god to achieve their narrow agenda to blame the Communists?

China Vs India
by Prasanna Nagarajan on Oct 19, 2007 05:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I doubt if ever we have developed a full package or application software without which some other software can't function.
We may be coding some lines of code everyday for our companies who in turn sell it as part of a package. In the IT field nothing original has been done from india. Can you give me the name of a language, an application s/w that is platform independent or operating system or database or network protocol or even a browser? No you can't. Beacuase of this we are in the habit of working on languages of Western contries. We are code coolies working for a few biscuits. The Chinese are now almost developed and testing their own Network Protocol and counterpart of Internet. Just try to get in the Chinese web sites. You will feel a whole world of difference. Also, they have got their own Unicode Character set and trying to develop ASCII equalent CHAR Set. Why are we closing our eyes from reality? We do not create wealth. We have slave menatlity form ages. Do we make anything at all except code a few lines like slaves for the West? Do we have a processor, a monitor, a mouse or a keyboard atleast that we have a patent on? Do we have any programming language that is purely indigenous?
