RE:Thing to learn from China
by JGN on Oct 19, 2007 06:08 PM

Mr.Amit Arora, the Nuclear deal is more beneficial to the US companies and some Indian politicians who can get kick-back. That is why the PM is upset about the delay in concluding the deal. The US had denied us fuel for a small plant of about 300 MW at Tarapur. What would be the fate of the proposed large plants if the US denies us fuel? We have enough coal for running Thermal Power Plants for producing electricity for another 50 years. So there is no need to conclude the deal hastily. Otherwise it would be the same story as of Enron and MSEB (conclude deal in haste and repent at leisure).

As regards support of China in 1962, the communists did not support them, but merely stated that the war is over a disputed territory which they call as theirs and we call as ours. The Chinese Govt was not a party to the demarcation of border (McMohan Line) and have right to dispute.
