Heavy Rains
by chilkoor sachidev kumar on Jul 02, 2007 05:58 PM  Permalink

Many times Mumbai is thought of as it is Maharasthra. There are other parts of Maharasthra too which need help. BMC may control a very small part of Maharashtra only. We need toshow the areas other than Mumbai to bring home the point. Then may be the subject will not get diverged.

Blame it on Govt / BMC or ourselves
by Ghost Rider on Jul 02, 2007 01:19 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In the advanced or developed or beautiful countries...there are dustbins on the roads / streets every 100 metres which are emptied and cleaned by the garbage collectors everyday! Does this happen in India?
As responsible citizens our duty is to throw garbage in garbage bins, BUT it is the Govt's duty to provide the garbage bins!
If this facility is not provided by the Govt, where will the people throw the garbage?

Blame it on Govt / BMC or ourselves!

Yes, this garbage bins is a real issue...I always try and throw waste in the garbage bins but even in railway stations very often we don't find bins...This is an easiest thing which these authorities can do...
Anyway, for macro issues, really I am not sure when our country will see the light..Ofcourse, major blame has to be taken by us who elect either X or Y, knowing well that none will do anything good...

The choice of electing someone is always between bad and worse. No matter whoever gets elected nothing gets changed.

We have to blame ourselves. Who are the Govt. employees and who are BMC councillors?

How many of us really sincere in electing the right candidate.

We are the ones to float all rules and then we blame somebody else for the failure.

Rain havoc
by amit bansal on Jul 02, 2007 12:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BMC is not only responsible for this. It's the public too, those who are not concerned about where they throwing the garbage. Even a polythene in a drain effects the flow of the water. It starts from small drains and goes upto river level.
But it's high time not only BMC, but govt should think about water harvesting at places like public parks, parking lots, playing grounds etc. So that it can be used in different ways.
REALLY, IT'S HIGH TIME. THINK

You are right. Take any situation, we want govt and its machinery to do everything for us. It is a pity that the very same people go to other countries and observe cleanliness codes and keep those cities beautiful. why cant we citizens think of not buying banned polybags, stop throwing garbagge to drains and streets.. We can also make a samll change to effect a big one.

What has Shiv Sena got to do with Flooding due to rain in Mumbai. Its more akin to saying Sharad Pawar was responsible for the earthquake that struck Latur.
This is a natural disaster, for which the Government, Civic Administration as well as the people of this huge city that are all responsible for.
And if the Shiv Sena and the Sainiks weren't to be found, can you tell me where was the CM when Mumbai was diluged? He was in the US having a meeting with Bill Gates. As he CM of this state he should've cut short his visit in the face of tragedy and flown back immediately. But NO. He's still in the States promoting trade and commerce opportunities in Mumbai.
Stop posting crap without knowing facts.

Paresh, this is not done! There is no need to express your personal outlook about Shiv Sena. If you can do something for affected , please do it. Dont try to give other color to this situation! There is no use of it.

I think you are new to Mumbai. Why should they help when there is BMC and other officials...

For your kind information Shiv Sainiks always help whenever there is crisis in the Maharashtra before all the civic authorities even think of starting.

You may read in News papers or seen on TV about the 26/07/2005 where central government has promised hugh amount to be given to the city's development and till date not a single penny is being handed over to the state however the state government is runed by Congress government.

Shiv Sainiks are the one who has started the dream project of fly overs and also Bombay Pune Express way.

Mr. Ranjan, I think Shiv Sainiks have just helped u personally in some political matter or u may be one of them. They are only there to dig up the pitch of Wankhade stadium, loot the people and abuse non-maharashtrians.
Not really helping or supporting anyone at the time of crisis.

Does it make sense to play with Pakistan while suffering the terrorist attacks by them?
That was the reason to dig up the stadium...to protest "friendly" relations with PAK despite all the nuisance they have been up to...

mr. bansal,
even at time of crisis people like you can't come out of your absurd thinking. so you expect only sainiks to do something if there is a natural calamity? are you helping anybody in anyway? dont post your comments because you know english and have a net connection.
