Seperate State?
by on Mar 01, 2007 03:37 PM  Permalink

Indian Constitution says that there should be no discrimination on the basis of region/ religion but I guess our politicians don%u2019t seem to bother about that.

Telangana is a political discrimination of people by region.

Politicians who could not manage to get into power and position in a big united state want to split it. This is like another war of independence in the Independent India

Looks like the title on home page is to make the readers curious about it and force them to open the page and read it.

Separate stae or country??
by Rangasamy Vijay on Feb 02, 2007 11:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This utterly stupid on the part of the student as well as the party/ groups that he belongs. Why so much emotional in creating a state? Are they demanding to liberate from the country? This linguistic basis for dividing the country is proving to be more dangerous to the unity of India. No doubt we require more states now than in 1947 due to population growth but for a better admistration and not for a narrow regional feeling. We lack national leaders and depend on petty politicians to run our country. Let us unite first on the language basis (with a 3 -language formula)/ well -meaning political system with a 2 or 3 national parties and then think of creating additional states from large states like AP. I only hope that India will see the light of a able political leader of national stature soon or else all our good efforts in the economical/educational field will be lost thru all these petty inter-state squabbles.
Long live our unity

It's true that the incident shouldn't have occurred, but President Kalam was the one supported the Telangana statehood in his famous speech to Telangana people. So did Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. Right after Congress got into power with the help of it's aliance with Telangana Rashtra Samithi and little bit of anti incumbancy vote, everyone now wants to blame Telangana people as separatists. They are just fighting for their livelihood. President Kalam, Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Singh understood it before, and now ignoring peoples wishes. Before you make general statements please read about Telangana.

Kalam's Speech Interrupted
by Pat Thakur on Feb 01, 2007 05:07 PM  Permalink

'As you sow, so shall you reap', goes an old adage. So (sadly) true about our nation. This is nothing but the outcome of a poisonous seed called 'Language - Based Division of Provinces' ('Bhashavar Prantarachana' in Hindi or simply put, 'The States of India') sown by our Brainless Leaders after Independence. This is bound to happen.

re Interruption of Presidents Speech
by Srinivas Ayyagari on Feb 01, 2007 04:17 PM  Permalink

When wise men speek, people must listen.

Our politicians are more of jokers and idiots (does not apply to all although)

such behaviour is not justified.

why do they want a seperate state ?

how many more divisions this country will undergo?
politicians want a seperate state not for administrative reasons but purely for ulterior motives.

Such issues should be condemned.

Telangana student aggressivsness
by ramprasad on Feb 01, 2007 03:21 PM  Permalink

This is the type of training our political leaders give to young students very bad motivation. Not hearing and discussing and learning from the great man of this country but disrupting and shouting during his speech. Shame to say he is a student.

Bad Behaviour
by ravi prakash on Feb 01, 2007 02:47 PM  Permalink

It is wrong on the part of the student to express a political sentiment in a gathering where the President had been addressing.
While freedom of speech is a fundamental right. There are limits set by a civil society to the manner of expressing anything.
In choosing to vent the feeling inappropriately at an august gathering, the student has chosen to insult the decency of all those present in the gathering. The student has misused his own liberty and trangressed that of the others.
The student must be punished for this act and not made into a hero.
Mannerlessness, boorishness and rowdy abusive behaviour ought to be condemned roundly by the University authorities and punished.
Unfortunately, such behaviour is encouraged by the student bodies amply supported by political formations who do not find anything fundamentally wrong by trotting frivolous explanation.

We can only condemn
by susanta das on Feb 01, 2007 02:42 PM  Permalink

The incident of shouting slogan ("Jai Telangana.") while the highest authority in the country, the honourable president is addressing, is strongly condemnable. I assume the youth is the student of the university. It is highly unbecoming for a university student to behave in such lowly. Is he learning such thing in university? What will he do or how will he behave after he comes out of the university? In our eduication institutes, we should teach the boys and girls to become good human beings - good behaviours, good characters etc. All of us are responsible to mould our future generations to become worthy citizens of this great country. Let us all condemn such behaviour.
