It is wrong on the part of the student to express a political sentiment in a gathering where the President had been addressing. While freedom of speech is a fundamental right. There are limits set by a civil society to the manner of expressing anything. In choosing to vent the feeling inappropriately at an august gathering, the student has chosen to insult the decency of all those present in the gathering. The student has misused his own liberty and trangressed that of the others. The student must be punished for this act and not made into a hero. Mannerlessness, boorishness and rowdy abusive behaviour ought to be condemned roundly by the University authorities and punished. Unfortunately, such behaviour is encouraged by the student bodies amply supported by political formations who do not find anything fundamentally wrong by trotting frivolous explanation.
