No other legitimately elected country in the world bombs their own people using MIG or Israeli aircraft EVEN if the areas are controlled by opposition. Air operations are highly inaccurate and most of the time kills civilians only.
When srilankan government breached this rule years before it showed they had no concerns about the Tamil people living in the northern areas. Just think if India bombs terrorist hiding in Kashmir University or mosque using MIG? Just because majority of srilankan Tamils are Hindus it%u2019s suddenly OK to wipe out them using air force? This is height of hypocrisy.

Your critisism of Hindi is unwarranted. Indian Students are learning French and German as second language just like Hindi. Nobody is forcing the Tamils to learn Hindi. I know many Tamil friends in Delhi and Mumbai speaking good Hindi. Those who live and work over there need Hindi as communication language. What is wrong if the Tamil students of Tamilnadu who plan to have a career in North India learn Hindi?
Do you think by learning Hindi you loose your culture? no way instead you are loosing your culture by learing English, Frech and German.

People learning Hindi out of their own interest is different from being force to learn Hindi. Every employee in PSUs have been issued ordered to learn Hindi. There are circulars saying there should be atleast 55% of communication that shld be in Hindi. This applies to all the officers to serve in the rural areas - where the chances of people knowing Hindi is highly unlikely. Dont you think this is not imposition. It is applicable even to scientist working in our Defence Organizations. It has just gone underground. That is it.
There are incentives to employees who have taken up and cleared Hindi exams.
More over u need understand that he didn't critisize Hindi - he just critizied imposition of Hindi.

I have no dislike towards the Hindi language. The problem is the way it is getting imposed. More over liking or disliking a language is an individual opinion - you cannot force people to like/dislike a particular langauge - if you do that then that is not democracy - you are trying to violate our constitution. Now tell me who is patriotic.
I need NOT have to prove to you that I am an Indian (as long as you remain an Indian - if you start showing your Hindi face - then you would be required to see Tamil face). And you need to understand the fact that you do not have the right to ask me to get out of my country.

What is the use of just activating air defences? You need to use them. SL airforce should have scrambled their fighter planes (I doubt whether they have any) and launched an attack mid air. But that didnt happen in the last 2 air attacks. (I am discounting the first one - b'coz it came as a surprise). You need guts to do such things - not just training/high-tech machines. These lapses on SL govt clearly shows that they are not capable of ruling themselves. There is no question of they claiming territorial rights over Tamil area - when they can't protect themselves in their own so called capital city.
Its a complete mess in srilanka....Mr.rajapaksh believes peace can be brought in this tiny nation by crushing the rights of tamil people,but wt he fails to understand is the counter attacking strategy of the tamils. Rajapakshe surrender!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAMIL EAZHAM gng to born soon

SL President Rajapakse's decision to go for military solution is a hgh stakes game. If at all Tigers hit at the North and take back Jaffna completely, the consequences will be felt beyond Sri Lanka.
Then it will be too late for foreign intervention because the momentum will be towards a declaration of separate state (Tamil Eelam).
It is in everyone's interest that Sri Lanka acts honorably and treats the Tamil people fairly. This way we can concentrate on peace and development all around in India and SL.
India cannot ignore this mess for long and wait for something big to happen.

My dear Kiran: The Tamil issue is different from Kashmir issue. Kasmiris were asking for a separate country not separate state. Kashmir was given a separate state and the Muslims are the majority. They rule the state. The Sri Lankan Tamils are asking for a separate state and the Sinhala racist does not want to give. If the do not want to give then they have to give the Tamils a separate country. Due to LTTE today at least the world knows about the Tamils problem. They had made sacrifices and mistakes. I think the SL Govt and LTTE should sit togethr and have a federal system of governance like wat we have in India...Mebbe If tamils win the elections in Northern and Easter Lanka they can rule and they can have their representatives in the centre in Colombo jus like MP's and MLA's in India. This election could be held with obeservers from UN and Other countries like INDIA and LTTE should disarm itself completely. This also would come near to solving the silver jubilee conflict

India has 45% literacy. Jaffna has 100% literacy for decades. Indian style consitution and Panchayat Raj wont be suitable for Jaffna or Sri Lanka.

My dear Kiran: The problem is South is not educated like Jaffna. The Jaffna does not have rain and resources. In India we have few Sri Lankan Tamils. They are very nice and educated and work hard. Tamils of North and east wanted a separate state for last 50 years but the Sinhala politicians will not agree to it. As a high level govt IAS officer I had personal experience about this. The real educated Singhalese wants peace and wants to give the Tamils a separate state but the politicians wants to stay in power like George Bush saying USA will be alert all the time and he is the only person can do a good job. Politicians are politicians wherever you go. That goes for the Sri lankan Tamil politicians too. Kiran: Tamil want a federal Sri Lanka and a state for them. Most of the Tamils said to me that they would like to join India as a state than under the singhala unitary system. If they cannot give a separate state then divide Sri Lanka. Its good for the Balkans, Kosvo, Macedonia, Bosnia etc. Why not in Sri Lanka. May god help all the people of Sri Lanka. That is what Buda will want. That is not the uneducated thugs who wear orange cloths and call them selves Buddhist monks.
Sri Lankan cricket is good. National defence is bad. What is use of cricket dominance if you can't protect your nation from vintage aircraft of LTTE? The rebels bombing national capital skies now. India would give a fitting reply if somebody did that. Dufu sri lankan military. What are they going to do now. Wait for another attact? Seems LTTE will takeover Sri Lanka through this air muscle supported by ground and navy forces. I admire the spirit of sri lankan to fight for their rights but they should bring democracy when issue resolved and not behave like dictators to their people. That would be counter productive to Indian people.

The sri Lankan Tamils are fighting for a cause not for a paycheck. I am sorry to say the Sinhala military is not to the par. They blame us for all the radar failure. Our radars work fine but the operator error and alert system is not there. My god if you cannot find these 3 small planes and destroy them what good of an air force you have.

Our country will not bomb its own civilians like sri lankan government is doing. We hardly use air force in may trouble spots in India. Even to the fact the Russian Govt does not use Air Force to deal with Chechen Rebels.. Wake up my fellow Indians. Sri Lankan Tamils deserve a decent place and have their own autonomous state. If The Sri Lankan Singhalese Racist Rajapaksa cannot accept that then divide the country. Many Sri Lankan Tamils would like to join and attach it as another state in India. Open your Eyes. The Singhalese hate the Indians and they love the Pakistanis and the Chinese. Only way to protect India is to have a Tamil state south of us as a counter move to the Chinese and Pakistanis.
