Vande Mataram is a beautiful song singing the praises of our motherland India. It reflects the love the poet has for his country and echoes the sentiments of millions of Indians whether in India or abroad.Any Indian who loves his country would sing it with pride and love. Such a song has to be sung spontaneously and without any hesitation , which child doesnt love his mother? As the song is in sanskrit it is being associated with Hinduism. It only says my mother is the most beautiful of all and that I salute my mother so why should the Imam or anyone else object to it being mandatory in schools? Isnt it true?
I am far away from my beloved country India (Bharat). If any one say Bholo Bharat Maata Ki, then all my energy come out from the heart and without caring for whether we are in office or on street we say Jai. If we hear either national song or Jana Gana Mana, we literaly cry. we respect our country so much. If any one say any thing against our country, we feel like killing that guy. Vande Mataram is one of those petriotic song. We should make it to sing every day in all schools, colleges etc.
Regarding the contraversies, there are political leaders who do not know anything about the country are ruling. They just want power. By supporting the terrorists (the one who hate to sing the motherland song), they just want to get vote and hece power. Mulayum Sing Yadav is always backing such activities. Why intelligence in India is not taking him as serious against national security. I strongly suggest the one who don't want to repect, he/she should be sent out of the country. If we support such activities then we are encouraging disrespect to our own country. One side Congress asks for support to the country and aother side it supports Muslims against the country, why ?
Vande Mataram is a national and patriotic song and a religious or a political song. Any attempt to dishonour it or politicise it amounts to dishonouring the spirit of Indian nationalism
Though language of Vande Mataram does indeed sound like a Hindu song (sanskrit), it should not be perceived as such; but as a national song. Tomorrow some South Indian / Bengali will object to it as a Hindi song. So where will it end? Should then the national song be a mixture of all languages? It sounds ridiculous!! Nationalism does require some sort of symbolism/ceremonial form, and so nobody should object to it. Indian Muslims will be further exhibiting alieanation if they protest against this. Even Indian British/USA citizens should sing their respective national anthems, if they live their.
It is like when the baby speaks first time in his/her life they call to his/her mother ,as their affection with mother is too much they love mother then why not we treat Vande Mataram or Jana Gana Mana as our national pride and keep our religious differences comes later then the national interest.
As Vande Mataram and Jan Gan Man has to come from our heart and it will come if one is true Patriotic.
Vande Mataram was not taught in our school; I do not know the full song; I can only guess the meaning of it approximately. I do not know the history behind the song; I was not aware that it is 100 years old;
I only know the recent history that it has become a political football between so called nationalistic parties who feel that it is a 'national song' but did not ensure that it is sung in all schools and instituitions in states where they have been in power for quite some time. I am not sure whether it is sung in all schools in Gujarat where the so called nationalist parties have been in power for more than a decade. I do not know of any attempt made by them to get the song sung in most of the other states too!
Even the present HRD minister tried to get political gains by trying to get it sung! It is a shame that instead of getting a patriotic feeling that unites the country, such stunts by our politicial leaders for and against the national song only tends to divide the country rather than unite - which is what a national song should be doing!
Is it wrong to praise one\\\'s mother? Is it wrong to honour one\\\'s mother? My Mother is mine. So is our Mother Land. Nothing is grater than this. So what\\\'s wrong to praise and honour our Mother Land.
Few translate line I have highlighted here.(Translation by Shree Aurobindo)
\\\"Mother, I bow to thee!
Cool with thy winds of delight,
Dark fields waving Mother of might,
Mother free.
Mother, giver of ease Laughing low and sweet!
Mother I kiss thy feet,
Speaker sweet and low!
Mother, to thee I bow.
To thee I call Mother and Lord!
Though who savest, arise and save!
Lovilest of all earthly lands,
Showering wealth from well-stored hands!
Mother, mother mine!
Mother sweet, I bow to thee,
Mother great and free!\\\"
In our culture, we respect our Mother, so is our Mother Land. I will sing Vande Mataram.
Mother sweet Mother, Mother Land sweet Mother Land.
