Though language of Vande Mataram does indeed sound like a Hindu song (sanskrit), it should not be perceived as such; but as a national song. Tomorrow some South Indian / Bengali will object to it as a Hindi song. So where will it end? Should then the national song be a mixture of all languages? It sounds ridiculous!! Nationalism does require some sort of symbolism/ceremonial form, and so nobody should object to it. Indian Muslims will be further exhibiting alieanation if they protest against this.
