Hurting the Hindu Cause -2
by Anamika K on Aug 15, 2006 11:18 PM  Permalink

(Please also see "Hurting the Hindu Cause -1")
Lord Krishna is Shantasvarupa and Karunamayi. He is the noblest of the noble. Please do not bring ignominy on Him by claiming that he espoused violence. If you want to resort to violence please do not justify it with the proclamation that you have Lord Krishnas sanction and The Gitas sanction! DO NOT MISINTERPRET THE MESSAGE OF THE GITA. Lord Krishnas message is profound. Do not sully it. You are hurting Hindu religion. Our next generations may stay away from Hindu Dharma with this misconstruction that the Gita sanctions violence. Let our children know how hard Krishna tried to maintain peace , bring about peace. Conflict or war was always the last resort for him. Then they cannot help but feel proud of being a Hindu! Every religion has different interpretations for certain aspects. Pass on the right interpretation and positive messages to the next generation if you want Hindu Dharma to be carried on .The coming generations do not ccept things without questions answered. And they accept only the "right" answers.

Hurting the Hindu Cause -1

Mr. Athale writes "With the creed of non-violence as the dominating ideology, we have forgotten that to save the Good we have to be ready to destroy the evildoers."
Krishna, the Peacemaker: If you play word association, the moment you mention Krishna , the word that springs to mind is Sandhaana or compromise. Lord Krishna was a great diplomat, statesman and strategist. He tried very hard to make the Kauravas see reason. He tried various means to bring a compromise between the Pandavas and Kauravas and to avoid the Mahabharata war totally. War was the last resort for him.
He underwent utter humiliation at Duryodhanas court when he went to see if he could bring about a peaceful resolution. He was also humiliated many times before by the Kauravas and other evil men who hated him. His answer to them was a smile and he would turn away. He did not dignify insults with a response. He did his best to avoid conflict, death and destruction. He rescued Rukmini and sped back fast;not because he was a coward but because he wanted to avoid bloodshed though Rukminis brother had the likes of Shishupala and Jarasandha in his camp. He forgave 100 sins of Shishupala before killing him.contd

Why this I-Day is doubly special
by Kiran G Parihar on Aug 15, 2006 08:33 PM  Permalink

Fantastic article. Surely we are forgetting our past. I was astonished to hear that people consider Ramayana & Mahabharata as myths. Lord Macaulay would be laughing in his grave now!!!. After all he has completed his mission of destroying the rich cultural heritage of India.
For the likes of H D Sankalia, even if Rama & Krishna comes & tell them, they will not believe that we really existed. They are just bunch of idiots & the problem is that they are well educated & at the top position in their profession. Their words & action makes difference to the society.
I pray that we have leaders who understands the importance of our culture.

Why this I-Day is doubly special

Its a pity in India, that we feel shy to acknowledge our glorious history and culture. We Indians are yet to come out of our slave mentality which has creeped in after more than 800 years of foriegn rule and even today we have at the helm of affairs a foriegner. We have embraced Western culture at the cost of our culture and heritage not because of british rule, but becoz of a rule for the past 60 years which is hell bent on ceating a pseudo royal family (which has cleverly imported Gandhi tag).

Why this I-day....

Colonel Athale's article is superb. I think this will be a reality, only a matter of time. May take 2-3 generations. However, the howling secularists (!!) will start whimpering some day, and let's hope that day is just around the corner.

I totally agree with you. I think the whole idea of the war was perhaps to unite India from Gandhara (Afghanistan - Kandahar) in the West to Pragjyothisha (Asam). Krishna, the statesman, warrior, and strategist might have believed the new India will remain united under the Five Pandavas who were very attached to each other.
I have no doubts sir, He is the architect of our nation.

by vmbharathi on Aug 15, 2006 11:08 AM  Permalink

I was ok while reading through this article until last couple paraghs..

You are an Aethist and think that Krishna is great man!! a **hounorable** man!! ?

Of all the characters in the entire indian literature and hindu religion.. the character that I think is the worst and cheapest of all is perhaps Krishna..!!

He is epitome example of how there can be a misleading and studpid explanation of everything and anything done by oneself..
