Hurting the Hindu Cause -1
by Anamika K on Aug 15, 2006 10:38 PM

Mr. Athale writes "With the creed of non-violence as the dominating ideology, we have forgotten that to save the Good we have to be ready to destroy the evildoers."
Krishna, the Peacemaker: If you play word association, the moment you mention Krishna , the word that springs to mind is Sandhaana or compromise. Lord Krishna was a great diplomat, statesman and strategist. He tried very hard to make the Kauravas see reason. He tried various means to bring a compromise between the Pandavas and Kauravas and to avoid the Mahabharata war totally. War was the last resort for him.
He underwent utter humiliation at Duryodhanas court when he went to see if he could bring about a peaceful resolution. He was also humiliated many times before by the Kauravas and other evil men who hated him. His answer to them was a smile and he would turn away. He did not dignify insults with a response. He did his best to avoid conflict, death and destruction. He rescued Rukmini and sped back fast;not because he was a coward but because he wanted to avoid bloodshed though Rukminis brother had the likes of Shishupala and Jarasandha in his camp. He forgave 100 sins of Shishupala before killing him.contd
