another landmark decision
by gajendra on Oct 07, 2005 01:05 PM  Permalink

One more landmark decision by the judiciary of the nation, proving the credibality of judicial sysytem, but still the question is that will it have any impact on the political parties (esp. congress which removed five governors in the name of depoliticization) or it will also be lost in the league of previos decisions on uniform civil code, reservation issue, shaira bano case etc. etc.

Refusal of Supreme Court to stay Bihar Polls.
by A.K.Sinha on Oct 07, 2005 12:34 PM  Permalink

It is a landmark judgement. With due respects to Apex Court, I would like to remind them that "Justice Delayed is Justice Denied". Why should the voter suffer?

Supreme Court Verdit -Dissolution of Bihar Assembly
by Balasubramanian A on Oct 07, 2005 11:48 AM  Permalink

The judgement is acceptable to some extend.

Whether the election process start or not, when the dissolution is illegal, then the assembly should be restored.

Therefore, as usual, the five judges have given verdit typed in some pages. No value.

When it is illegal, then who is accounted for.

SC Order on Bihar Poll
by s.venkataraman on Oct 07, 2005 11:29 AM  Permalink

It is a shame on the part of the Central Govt.not to have sacked the governor for his unconstitutional acts beore calling for election in Bihar. Now atleast the governor should be removed forthwith since the SC has clearly repudiated the dissolving of the Bihar Assembly.

But the honorable court has not punished either the Govt. at centre or the governor. This judgement has given a way to the Centre and the puppet governor to behave in the same manner in future also and get away by mauaring the election process to be announced by the Election Commission.

Well orchestrated game!
by Sumit on Oct 07, 2005 11:13 AM  Permalink

This seems to be a well orchestrated game by the ruling party. A case of using the loopholes on the existing system.
