When people don't have jobs, they complain about unemployment. And when they do have jobs, they still can complain!!
Frankly speaking, I am fed of of ICICI bank. Their customer service is pathetic and the Bank rules wrt any transaction with the bank/ Home Loans project a mindset that the customers money is their own money.
Thier branch staff (I have experince with Mumbai-Borivali west Home Loan Branch) is pathetic. I have a Home loan with ICICI and every time I get a disbursement, they give me a cheque of the required amount and start the interest IMMEDIATELY from that day itself, even before the money is credited to the builders account!! If they were issuing me a Demand Draft then it is OK to start the interest immediately even before the money is credited to builders account, but man!! they issue cheques!! so overall I always end up paying extra 3-4 days interest for every disbursement!! And ICICI is doing this with all customers !! They are the 21 century PIRATES!!
Secondly their customer service is pathetic. 1. in the branch itself as well on the phone. on phone there is no end to the waiting time, I have waited almost always more than 15 mins, and 70% of the times hung up the call!!
They do not want you to visit their branches nor do they want to increase the telephone service executives!!
Is Mr.Kamath listening ?? or just busy counting the loot !!
Let us look at this Article from a point of view of the man who led. It is not for service levels , which i am sure you will talk about SBI .Let us understand onething that, ICICI Bank have emerged out because of In-efficient Nationalised Banks. Hence as any such organization growing big will have Service Level dissatisfaction . It is people down under will not have the same, as the people who lead it. As our Culture reflects about such things that any one who works in a bank have least Service mindset, unfortunately our Nationalised banks have to be blamed for the same for setting wrong work culture.

I think national banks are better!!! they may be traditonal but their Personnel seem more capable!!!!!
There are a number of guys in this column who support the so called good work by ICICI. I do agree with their views but honestly the people who are criticising ICICI also have a more genuine concern, Eventhough ICICI is projected in a big way .. the professionalism like multinational banks are still lacking. The aim of ICICI should be a world model banking which caters to rich and poor equally in a developing country like India. Look at the example of the Gramin bank guy from Bangladesh who won Nobel prize for his efforts. Can ICICI claim they cater to rich and poor equally. If so then they could be nominated for a Nobel Prize next year.

ICICI is bank. Its role is to lend money and protect investors deposits, serve the customers by offering innovative products, technology, service and make profit in the process. They are not here for the charity. They don't claim to help or not help people based how poor or rich they are. They also don't claim to be a social organization. Once again get real. Cut the crap of helping poor etc. We have been talking about this for last 60 years. Somehow nothing has changed. Do that and poor stay poor. Focus on creating good service infratsructure, creating welth and offering opportunities for all. That's the surest way to prosparity....

ICICI is rather a mass institution. You are right on your inferences about the bank being more for the proletariat than the burgeoise, i personally have a bank account with ICICI and find them very effecient and the service are pretty high but a bit of fine tuning in their professional approach is required.Good obversation but all together I would bank with ICICI nevertheless!
I am really amazed to see the abusive messages against a good, innovative bank like ICICI. Someone even talked about majority talking bad against the bank. Oh get real my friend! Just because you had bad experience that doesn't make it a majority. Besides this isn't a charity. As I had said earlier there might have been few cases of lapses by ICICI officials and nothing wrong about pointing the same out. But paintin the town red with all sorts of insinuation doesn't do justice to a bank like ICICI. The truth is we never had it so good before. Years of lethargy and total disregard for the customers is not going to go away in a day... I am glad that ICICI bank is showing the way. Stumbling in the whole process once in a while..but what the heck let's give it a break for the sake of opening "new frontiers.." For without risk, daring and innovation there won't be a sucecess. Millions of Indians would like to come out of poverty and the dark ages to the road of propsarity, and lightment. Institiations like ICICI, TATAS, INFOSYS are the new becon of hope...I agree with my friend MATH had written...There is a silent majority who is absolutely happy with the banking services provided by ICICI...Let's give ICICI a big Cheers...
ICICI Bank has taught the people of India, the real meaning of Banking. with lot of innovative products and experiences common man is so haapy with the banking industry. Just a few years back one could have hardly thought of banking from home itself. ICICI Bank has inculcated the seeds of innovation and commitment not only ithin its organisation but has also initiated its competitors to offer beeter products and ultimately the common man has benefited. Hats off to K V Kamath. - Brindaban, Raipur (9827924575)

They need a license for that, joker. You think Indian Banks will be given licenses easily in the US?
I have read several of your messages on bad experiences related to ICICI bank loan. I also applied for loan. However, after spending time and money in preparting the paper work, and after several follow ups, it was rejected due to inexperienced loan officers who were unsure of the rules for sanctioning. I did not stop here, I wrote my grievances to Mr. Kamath, and to my surprise he responded and forwarded my email to the more experienced loan officer in the head office in Bombay. They accepted and apologised saying that the people in the smaller branches were not skilled in this respect. Loan officer from Bombay head office personally reviewed my case and the loan was sanctioned within no time. Perhaps, this information can help others too..
