The bottom line is cost. I believe college education in India is very affordable for an ordinary person. Where as in US, a student has to do several jobs to pay for their education or parents have to save for several years. It is important for Indian education system to continue to keep their operating expenses to the minimum for education to be affordable to large numbers.
As an Indian student who spent most of his childhood in the US, I would say that this is a very promising trend and I personally know a couple of Caucasian friends who inspite of having state grants are coming to IISC Bangalore this fall.. I came back to India after getting my bachelors in Michigan State and though it took me a while to settle down, as many of you would testify, there is nothing like India..The diversity has to be experienced to be believed.
This report is exiciting. Why Indian govt learn from this & give opportunity for bright persons in govt/public sectors jobs? This way India can grow strong quickly. I feel that is possible only if reservation system is abolished.

Educational RAT(Little child from age 5) race forced by the Indian society. The world says the best educated student comes from India due to the best Indian universities, HAHAHA The universities always hires self learning students. Where is the Indian universities/educational credibility comes. IIM & IIT always takes self talented students, what they teach them, Newtons law, Boils theory or Russian mathematicians techniques, and most important is everything is in Indian language i.e. THE ENGLISH. Pampered the small kids from age 5,dont read, make them Ratta. Ratta mar all the foreign writer books otherwise ull not get a job or a self respect in Indian society. If youll not get good job then ull be called a looser in society.So Mr. Senator, you need Indian mentality in America first then youll learn why India get most educated peoples. Honestly please ask yourself is there any Indian education credibility comes here. Any way they (USstudent) will know what the mess is. All the best Americans..

I dont know why a delegation have to come so far and study this. Unless they want to taste authentic indian chicken tandoori. The answer is very simple.
India churns out huge number of techies coz they start studying early in age. By the age American kids read ABC, indian kids are doing multiply and division. American kids are too slow to be introduced to education, coz by the time they start studying, they also know to revolt against studies. Also the american system is too lenient. Teachers cannot discipline a child (sometimes even parents cannot). Thats why indian kids thump am-kids in the bee-contests.
why americans are good in creativity, innovation but indians arent? The answer is simple, the americans are well-off basically (evenif you're unemployed, govt provides soc-sec) and so can take risks. They are materialistically well off too. For eg, how many world-class made-in-india cameras have you seen (answer=0)? in india, you've to bribe the cow to milk.
if america adopts the indian idea of starting-off kids early into school, it will see a tremendous improvement in education. There is a simple saying: "What you dont learn at 5, you wont learn at 50". Thats the mantra.

Your post sounds more like American bashing then to the reason why Americans coming to india for education Numbers are small and study areas are limited
