The bottom line is cost. I believe college education in India is very affordable for an ordinary person. Where as in US, a student has to do several jobs to pay for their education or parents have to save for several years. It is important for Indian education system to continue to keep their operating expenses to the minimum for education to be affordable to large numbers.
