While searching for information about availability of nicotine patches in India to help a friend quit smoking, I came across a very informative webpage. But the uptime of this website is not very reliable. I was not able to access it at all times. So I am duplicating it in its entirety on my blog at http://swapg.blogspot.com/2007/04/information-about-nicotine-replacement.html
Its written on the cigarette that "Cigaratte Smoking is injurious to Health"...The People who make cigarette are the most culprits ones..because they want their business to be running..and our govt is also culprit...which has failed to stop the cigarette and tobbaco completely..I am smoking cigarette..and am trying my best to quit it. But its very difficult to get out of it once it starts.. Strict cctions have to be taken for the better future of this nation.
Giving up smoking is not that difficult. Trust me for that!!! I started smoking in 1992 at the age of 16 and by the time I completed 25 years of age cigarette had become synonymous to my personality. I smoked no less than 25 cigarettes a day. I fine evening, October 20, 2001 to be more precise, I decided to give it up. I had three cigarettes in the pack and I still have them with me. I neither went for counselling nor took any medicines or therapy. There were 'NO' adverse effect on my health. It was sheer determination. I took inspiration from one of my colleagues who also smoked like an engine and gave up smoking justa few days before I did. I waited for 20 days to see teh results and then thought when he can do it why can't I.
i was a regular smoker for the last 7-8 years.on an average i used to smoke 4-5 ciggaretes per day.all this took a toll on my health, my stamina reduced considerably, breathing became difficult and i aslo got smoker's cough and chest pain. a year back i decided to give up smoking. intially for abt a month i reduced the number of ciggaretes to 1-2 and in the next month i completly stopped smoking.what i want to say is tht it's totally ur determination through which u can leave this habit.no amount of therapies and counselling wld do any good till ur determined.today iam feeling gr8 and healthy and it will improve further.also i wld like to add that do some excercise alongwith as it would lessen ur craving for nicotine.so be a man and throw this cancer stick out of the window.all the best. may waheguru give u the strong will to leave this habit.ssa
I am addressing this to all doctors and other readers that our life is not in years, months, days, hours etc..but it is no. of breath what lord has given at the time of birth.
Now life is totally depends on us how we spend these precious breath given by him. I also would like to give another figures how we can control the speed:-
We spend in particular time:- a) While siting - 12 breaths b) While walking - 18 " c) While sleeping - 30 " d) While engaging in family life - 64 "
Now it is left to us how long we want to live in this world. Surely after smoking we will breath more in order to remove effect of smoke going into our body.
We need to understand this very seriously.
All the Best for all smokers and wish you good luck to quit smoking and enjoy longer life.
