Kashmir is really a pain for India an well as for Indians. Our country is unnecessarily wasting time and money on Kashmir. If this would have been the case of some other country, say US then the issue would have been resolved by now. Nehru committed a blunder and we are still paying the price.

another news to you , who took the kahsmir issue to UN when Indian Army was advancing and recaupturing the last land to paskitan ( pok or ajk), none othjer than mofo Nehru , he wanted imgae og dove in the world scene, he was ready to sacrifice his motherland for his image...
I do agree nehru constructed some dams and some IITs , other than that he created kashmir problem, phcuked up economy , seperatism in Norht East, Indo-china war, pucked up indian history ..the list is long..India is still bleeding, thank to chacha Nehru..

yes, anyone can settle in kashmir ... anyone ... you just cannot buy property there while living outside kashmir ... e.g. you can live in delhi and own a flat in Bombay ... but if you live out kashmir, you cannot own property there ... but if you want to settle down in kashmir, you can ....

Don't blame Nehru .... there was no problem in kashmir until the mid 80s .... before then, it was common for (main-land) indians to go to kasmir on a vacation .... Nehruji died in 1964 ... so, let's not put the blame on the poor dead man. It is like blaming your father for you not getting a job (just an example, nothing personal .. ok)

article 370 was what let us keep kashmir ... or it would have been subject to UN plebiscite right after partition.
Nehru had a vision ... he came out perfect on almost all of them ... it is the Gandhi killer RSS who misguides its sevaks about Nehruji.

the article 370 giving a special status to kashmir was a demand made by the rajah of kashmir ... nehruji had two choices, either send in military and capture the state or peacefully accept the outcome.
the sane minds that prevailed then thought that artcle 370 was a better choice as military use in kashmir could alienate the locals - mostly muslims, if you didn't know that and could even bring the state under UN supervision ... and thus another separate country.
so, it was a smart decision then ... today, people can disect it all and say, if they had done this this would have happened, or not done this, this would not be the situation ... like Nehruji had a crytal ball then to see the flow chart of decision making and and its impact 60 years later.
It was Nehru's policies and his impetus to science and technology that India today is closer to the developed world ... what kind of science and technology can our neighbors claim to be expert in? the technology to blow oneself up just by pulling a string ... LOL
