Apolitical Speaker vs Karat
by anand mehta on Jul 20, 2008 09:13 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Mr Karat and his party, if they had their way, would like to scarp India Constitution and replace it with a constitution drafted on the basis of Chinese Constitution (if they have one !!). So Somanthji has to be compimented for remaining Speaker. He should NOT resign even after that as he is not obliged to do.
As regrads Nuclear agreement, not deal as that word indicates some sort of arrngement against somebody, India needs Uranium supply NOW. Thorium based system has to be fully developed. Fast Breeder is not covered for inspection. The arrangement has the approval of almost 45 countries INCLUDING Russia and China (as per media). Then the only reason for the left to oppose the agreement is because India would become stronger and could plan higher energy availability for people and industry with help from 'Imperialist' USA; AND THEY WANT CHINA TO REMAIN SUPREME IN THIS REGION. The Mayvatis and Goudas , Ajitsinghs are simply using this God sent, no no CPM sent opportunity to get their pound of flesh from the poor TAx payers. This they have in any case been doing in their respective states.

Dont be stupid to say LEFT and chinese are together and all that
But the point is why Indo-US deal??
1) even though russia offered a similar deal with Enrich ment Plant ,Reprocessing Plant , fuel cycle , Reactor for Millitary progamme at low cost with out any restriction of IAEA and NSG
2) well regarding the ful Indian Domiasat Uranium has 16000 tonnes of Uranium which we can use for atleast 100 yrs estimation is much more than that

If you want to be sure google it
so the problem is to understand why UPA want a deal with US
1)just for technology
2)or its a another shortsighted step by congress like 1948, 1962
3)they are under pressure of US
4) or there is deal behind deal

Hello HWD, I am not that much nuclear literate so you may no more about the conditions of the Rusian offer and when it was handles. If you have valid information on our Uranium reserve then you know better. I thought India was keen to have some agreement about uranium supply with Australia.
SO may be the deal is about Tehnology from USA as well as others like France, who can not supply until we sign NPT. This deal as per my understanding was to get over this restriction just for Civilian Power recators. Mil was exclude. Us has to follow its own laws for allowing the supply, so their own acts come into pictur. I am told that ifwe do not like to conform to them then we may not get the inputs from USA but others would be free to trade with us. Bush would obviously like to cal this a feather in his cap. The Indian element in USA is now very strong and may be thay are also behind pushing it as they would not be aware of the new Pres's likes and dislikes. This is my understanding, hence the support. The Left does not like anything with US mark (at least publicly as it may not be so for their family members!). The others non-BJP just want to benefit from the situation brought about by the Left. BJP is definitely acting in a shortsighted manner. They would come to power, if at all, only with others. The history of the nation would indicate whether those opposed have done a bigger blunder than what we blame for every shortcoming the Congress and Nehru. That is the current fashion al
