At last government started thinking to counter 'Hyde Act'....
They know that it is hard to win trust vote.So new tactics to gain support from 'thinking' MPs..
But one thing remain unanswered...
Why government show such haste & secrecy to such a deal, without even making primary negotiations with other parties & Left parties who oppose the 'Hyde act"...
It is the duty of a democratic government to take steps to make sure everybody's fears about such a deal is clarified... But unfortunately they only trust George Bush...

well they might have tried for sure but seeing left attitude they want to oppose everything congress does it is not known to us how much they have shared. from last 1 and half year they r trying to convince left and other parties but it is in useless and they know if bush goes time for new goverment to come in power and convince them would be diffcult as it happens here in india. it makes sense to approve it with this goverment before it get's too late. if goverment acts fast we blame them y they r doing fast and if they take time we blame them they never act fast we have to be serious in selecting minister and not just critise them

This is certainly a tactic to wean away some fence sitters to vote for the govt, in the trust vote. The question is why the UPA did not take steps to counter the Hyde Act for so long, and what caused the belated conciliatory statement? The manner of handling the process of the nuke deal by the govt in the last three years, has caused serious doubts in the minds of all right thinking people. This and the timing of the "thinking" about countering the Hyde Act,may actually prove to be counterproductive for the UPA in the run up to the trust vote. The die is cast, let us await the outcome. After winning the trust vote, let the govt come out with such measures to mollify the critics of the nuke deal.
