I can't understand this hue and cry over the nuclear deal.
Mr AJ Abdul Kalam is apolitical and has given his nod to the deal; so has BJP's former National Security Adviser Brijesh Mishra.
Left parties are rightly termed 'red monkeys' by the Shiv Sena in opposing the deal. Its like have a member of your family ringing the deathknell while your enemies considering to bail you out.
As regards inflation, India is in a hole like the rest of the world and there is nothing that our learned MM Singh or Chidambaram can do however hard they try.
Im employed in Saudi Arabia. It has the cheapest petrol (Rs 4.85 a litre) and still has an inflation of 11% compared to 2.8% in Dec. Qatar too is in deep hole with inflation having reached 15.7% this week.
The goverment has done what it could but with crude prices going through the roof one can only hope and pray. I still feel India is a much cheaper place to live in the present scenario.

2 things i wanne say - inflation in india can be controlled by agricultural output as we are a 60% agricultural economy so a river interlinking project could have boosted all drought affected regions with the blessing of waters from flooded regions and himalayas
2'nd u say saudi has less petrol price and still have high inflation. - here u forgot that saudi only has petrol, nothing else on which they can actually rely, india is different we have everything apart from fuel and fuel is like a 10% cause of inflation in a country like india. imagine india is biggest exporter or rice and today to meet domestic demand india bans export of rice....thanks to congress policy whose policymakers are busy appeasing muslims or dividing hindus on castes...

The crux of Indo US N-deal centered around Uranium. According to Dr.APJ, Uranium is not the right fuel for India. India does not have Uranium deposits. But we have Thorium in abundance. So we should focus on programmes to develop the technology based on Thorium. In a 'world energy report' it is reported that fossil fuel will be scarce in another six decades. So we must proceed with programmes for solar power, nuclear power, bio-diesel, wind power etc. Any agreement signed should not stop us from choosing our friend and live according to our consciousness. Even before finalising the deal, countries started dictating terms for supply of fuel etc. We can imagine the extent to which such brawling will go after the final 'signature'. There should be a transparent and free discussion on the deal in the public domain. Otherwise as Gautam said we are loosing our freedom. 'We should have energy independence' according to D. APJA Kalam
