It is an irony that people with no idea about excellence are in search of excellence! Excellence could not be found adequately during the long period of past decades! Is this inadequacy of top managers of this nation not sufficient to assess the level of excellence prevailing in our nation, filled with so called luminaries with multi graduations of various not only Indian Universities but also from abroad? Indian brain once radiated with brilliance, has drained now terribly due to import of largely defective western educational pattern along with their erroneous culture that makes them shine only in abroad due to a simple fact that the level of intellect abroad is comparatively very low! Oh searchers of excellence, please don't search for excellence amidst multi degree holders as the experience as we all feel is leading to anarchy of entire nation filled with corruption! So called present excellence remains a silent spectator of the dying nation! Renowned poet late Thomas Gray said in one of his master pieces,

Excellence is not to be searched, and it is not always there at the right place. It comes out naturally.
And the brain drain is not a process that can be effectively channelised. Why are we people thinking that we have only about a million people or so whose brain drained? There are a thousand million left back in India, who are doing exceedingly well. And the indication of their contribution is there for all to see.
One thing, if someone finds better pasture outside the country, well, he will certainly find things over here to be not to be good enough and to be faulty. You can not and should not stop them. Anyway, they will not be very productive over here.

The naturally occurring excellence has to be rightly identified, for which identifier should be competent to rightly spot the excellence as it is never tied with multi degrees! Don't go by the false statistics prepared by present multi graduates, who just to avoid crisis management, throw some figures! Go and run from village to village if your brain has drained, to personally witness the extent of poverty in entire nation and consequent miseries amidst large majority of India! The present brain drain amidst those so called luminaries with multi degrees, many from abroad and corruption are entirely responsible for such chaotic state of affairs in the nation! Only the result can conclude the effectiveness or capabilities of the managers of the nation! Of course, those with brain drain can easily win bread outside as the level of intellect is comparatively very low, which can be inferred from one single matter of Iraq handled so clumsily, resulting in massacres of lakhs of innocent people for nothing and spread of terrorism to other parts of the world! Let those who settle in US may not feel proud as they are also equal to local brain drains, out of which the excellence has to be located by really competent, only when the nation will register real progress! Goutam, it was crystal clear much before both the Iraq Wars that US had a motive. And they will do whatever they think fit. It has got noting to do with their intellect mass. Most of their citizens, including those few intelligent people that country has, still say the intent was right and the US should continue their stay there.
You and I are concerned about the massacre about the innocents. Not many in the US think so. They call these people as enemy assets. You may not be aware, the Sr. Bush ordered killing of about a lakh or more Iraqi Solders who had surrendered to the NATO forces after the culmination of the 1st war, cold blooded, saying that these surrendered unarmed soldiers to be potential threat.
And it is a fact that many amongst those, who were vocal in support of this argument, were so called India's Brain Drains. Better they are gone away.

This is what is due to lack of intellect! We are not bothered about what others think! We are bothered about the ground realities! It is the fact that Americans are intellectually big zero and hence, they bring intellect from out side US right from Dr.Einstein's time onwards till DR.Von Braun, who was responsible for launching first American earth satellite successfully as the project director of Vanguard and Jupiter %u2018C%u2019 Rockets, which lifted the Amerian satellite to put on orbit successfully! Only Indian software is in America with the help of Indians! Indian Doctors are minting money in US! We can go on piling up this way! Americans always depend upon others%u2019 Intellect as theirs%u2019 is very low comparatively!
I am in full agreement with what you said about the Americans. The reason as to why that country prospered was that the US had freely allowed those people who had good things to offer, to get in. And they have gained a lot doing so.
Do you think those people of Indian Origin in the US have a lot of sympathy for the people back home? Nope. Most of them would burn their Indian-ness at the slightest of pretext.
Only thing back in India that should be taken out of the system is Corruption. If this can be taken care of, things would change overnight.
