Dear Maharashtrians
by Vaibhav Pradhan on Feb 22, 2008 07:21 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I request dear Maharashtrians (ghatis if that gives pleasure to some of my Indian "brothers") to take a cue from Tamil brothers. We need to learn a lesson or two from smart Tamil and Kannada people on how to erect legal and constitutional barriers to protect our culture and language.
Following are some lessons:

1. NEVER utter a word "son of soil" instead make MARATHI compulsary in every school and state government offices.

2. NEVER talk about rights of Maharashtrian people instead recruit ONLY Maharashtrians whenever and wherever possible.

3. NEVER talk about throwing out outsiders living illegally on sidewalks and railway station but just try to make their life as miserable as possible "legally"

In time, we may come up with more such constitutional steps to protect our langiage.

Making Marathi or any other language compulsary in schools is against the rights a person. You can not force a person to learn a particular language if he does not wants to.
Giving jobs only to Maharashtrians is upto you, if you want you can do this but it will not be good for your own business.
And as far as your third point is concerned i am ashamed that there are still people in our country with mentality like you!

So, people here are talking about mentality? Are they criticizing mentality of Tamil and Kannada brothers? Is it a sin to try to protect ones mother toung?

And far inferiority complex, see who is making a comment, the one who can't even use his real name here. Man you are so ashamed. You are ashamed of using your own name here and you are accusing me of inferiority complex?

Wrong.

Since states have been divided on linguistic lines, there is nothing wrong in learning the lingua franca of the state you have opted to stay / work / study in, for better communication with the local people. No one is stopping you from keeping / teaching your own language as well.

Staying with the Laws of the land is the
only choice within our democratic framework.

Indian, please dont try to educate people here. Most of these idiots can't and dont even understand what they right. They just come here to kill the time.

And you got it right, my point was, whatever is constitutionally correct NEED NOT be RIGHT and whats constitutionally incorrect NEED NOT be WRONG. Constitution can (and has been) changed to suit to changing needs of the population. But these idiots don't have enough IQ to absorb that.

I am not a bhaiyya, i dont work in maharashtra and i earn more then you can ever dream of...
Also FOR your KNOWLEDGE, These laguages are optional secondary languages in respective states.
The primary language mandatory in schools everywhere in India is either English or Hindi(Two officially accepted languages to be used by central government of India). The secondary language can be either English/Hindi/any regional language. So a tudent can still choose English and Hindi as two languages in any school in the country.

can you tell me if you can take education in TN/KA with Hindi as a primary language in all schools? I am not taking about central schools and government. Discuss about State school and govt.

I don't dream of earning, we earn. We don't brag about our earnings but thats ok its in our culture and heritage.

And for your so called knowledge, you are pathetically WRONG.

Regional languages are NOT optional. As far English and Hindi, these languages are NOT mandatory. Man, you are so stupid.
