GDH instead of GDP

What is GDP - Gross Domestic Produce.. are the people in developed coutries with good GDP are really happy.. after why we need development.. does the materialism will make human kind happy

Gross Domestic Happiness should be the criteria for develoment. this is the area needs to be concetrated. If the people of the society are not happy then what hell is the development for.

GDH or Gross Domestic Happiness needs to be handled technically, mathematically and universities should encourage students to undertake PhD program in GDH.

Life is very short (we know our grandpaa's, great grandpa's may be one or two more generation backwords, but do we know everyone before and will somebody know us in future?

being happy is more important than being rich. When we earn more money we feel money is the material which is more expensive than anything else.

You are right in deciding that the happiness that we get is the exact measure of gauging our growth. But there are certain things for which we need answers
1.As known 22 crores of Indians are below powerty line.
2.Some of us Indians without giving any names own private Jets and are the richestin the world yet we do not show any courtsy in donating even a fraction of that to NGOs
3.The basic reasons for India lagging behind are
a.The vast gap between rich and poor
b.Lack of basic Education and Health Care
c.Loop holes in constitution.

Every living creature has to face problems for their very survival. Its the law of nature. Human is something above all, since he is thinking animal.

1. BPL - whats is actuly poverty line? what is the reference? instead can we comeup with Below Happiness Line??? then we may find some wake figures accross the line. Construction Labours get nice nap for even 2 hrs break at the noon, what about you and me???
If we can handle this then the issue of BPL will desappear. I feel even if we reach 30% of this ideal conditions, the first impact it will have is on BPL, the wealth will be destributed evenly over the society.

2. Private Jets - its in every society, at all times. even in ancient times some had big chariots, some only horses, some bullock carts some used walk on road. But again when Jet flier finds that people on the ground are more happier than him, then will find himself the most poor among all.

3.a vast gap between rich & poor - remove materialism from the society,

3.b I dont agree, Indian education system is better, and respectable. what it lacks is conteneous improvisation.
3.c - no one can help this, even in the best societies of the current era.

MY IDEAL ECONOMY FOR INDUSTRIAL WORLD:
EVERY COMPANY SMALL OR BIG SHOULD PAY THEIR EMPLOYEES THE SALARIES ENOUGH FOR MODEST LIVING AT THE HIRARCHY LEVEL, WHILE AT THE END OF EACH FINANCIAL YEAR SHOULD DESTRIBUTE 10-20% OF THEIR PROFIT AMONG THE EMPLOYEES THE EQUAL PROPORTION TO THEIR BASIC SALARIES.

I dont understand why you are critizing every thing we are not theoritical people. When a begger is begging on a red light do you think he is happy?
Do you think we or our country do not have any responsibility towards him?
Will the same thing happen in a country like Singapore?
Does that child do not deserve a home basic education good Hygnic food?
Is he paying the price for being born in India instead of some country like in Europe.
Dear sir we should wake up and understand the need of our country and do our bid in improving the situation of this country.

Dear Mr Sridhar I like your views but I think there is still long way India has to go before we all Indians get the basic needs fulfilled then I think your concept of GDH will be 100% achived.

a begger is begging b'coz, we make him to begg by contributing interms of money. There some parts in India where you may find no beggers, because people stopped putting money in beggers hands. If you want I can tell the name of the place in India.

The greatest responsibility will be not to give him money at first so that he can struggle with some other work to feed himself (& if some one argues about handicaps, how many beggers are handicap and there are enough examples of independent handicaps).

above is just a solution to one problem you mentioned. This was with my experience and observation. And i feel if we are optimistic we can resolve all problems with such ease (even curruption - the root cause of all problems).

India is huge country, complex than anyone else, so the problems will be bigger, specialy just 61 yrs after independence. We cant compare with Singapore or Dubai.

Things are improving, we are at least not falling short of food as it was 3-4 decades ago. Government is not impotent it banned rice export amidst of shortage. There is indeed positive growth, and I feel the power is energy which is within the youths who are capable of making DIFFERENCE.

GDH can never be 100% achieved. GDH is CONCEPT, I agree with you, its theoratical, but its a CONCEPT - to be undertaken as a research, just Japnese came up with concepts like KIZEN, 5S, JIT etc.
