Ahmanijad fangs are out becoz he has oil. Instead of using the money earned from oil to improve the life of his people he is trying to divide the world into supporters of america and haters of america. its not going to work. america will exist no matter recession or no recession but iran will be forgotten once there oil well dries up. What has iran done for the world, nothing. All good things enjoyed by the present generation has originated from US of A. You name it, telephone, aeroplane, TV, satellite tv, mobile phone service, fax and then the great communication revolution internet, which has changed the world. Whats irans contribution any of these named or anything else. before accusing america, he should think how/what iran can contribute for the world and humanity at large. We do not agree with everything what US does, certainly not but there is no country which can come anywhere near US or there way of life and there continuous strive for inventions. so ahmanijad and others like him should earn the respect and not demand respect.

It can only be called a SAD IRONY -Muslims who laid the foundations of cryptoanalysis now stand accused of not contributing to internet.Probably the whole internet business it self wouldnt be here if it is not for cryptograpgy and cryptoanalysis.
Internationally Known Author and Cryptoanalyst Simon Singh in his latest Newyork Times best seller - The Code Book - explains this in detail
It says the following
....However, in addition to employing ciphers, the Arab scholars were also capable of destroying ciphers. They in fact invented cryptanalysis....

Muslims shud stop living on past glories, this is a new world where competition is the name of the game. If muslims continue to put islam or their faith ahead and foremost they will continue to fall in the quagmire. Besides, in ancient times every country has to offer something or the other, india invented zero, china invented calculator, greeks invented cosmology. If muslims are backward today its becoz they are so obsessed with their faith that faith has blinded them. There are 56 muslim countries in the world and they all cry citing the reason of palestine, kashmir, chechenya, serbia and consider the world is trying to get them. If they want to be in the comity of nations they shud put faith within the four corners of their home.

The ONLY place where Muslims live a dignified and educated life is India because of Hindu influence.Its only in India that Muslims take up music and the fine arts and get educated...not even in UK do Muslims go to school.

The Arabs were doing fine as long as they followed Islam with intelligence and compassion. That is why they were able to invent so many navigation instruments, conquer half of Europe, yet did not molest christians or jews. The day they started becoming fanatics, they lost their compassion, their learning and the ability to govern instead of killing.

balaord, I'm moving my debate with you to this thread. I don't think The West regards the Arabs as backwards, since they do not recognize the latter's ancient contributions to their knowledge. All your quotes carry a western lineage, which proves out my point. The bigger issue is where is this sense of intelligence (you quote about) in today's Arab world? Who would stop them if they attempted to improve their own science and wellbeing? Why are they always at loggerheads with each other apart from the West. The US vs Al Queda squabbles is only a decade and half old. There were always frictions going on among them earlier. Iran vs Iraq is a major example. Iraq over taking Kuwait is not forgotten either. Turkey has its own Kurdistan headache. The Europeans seem to be having at least one stable union these days, where apart from the Serbian tangle, they do not seem to carry any major issue within them (unless Russia backfires yet again in future). Why can't the intelligent Arab world sort out its own problems? Why do they always keep awaiting Americas fall before they will be able to live peacefully?

You said it Pankaj, who is stoping 56 islamic nations to advance in whatever field they like. China has emerged from no where and the world is now admiring them. India is also taking giant leaps and the world is slowly accepting them. But islamic countries are too obsessed with their religion that they are falling deeper and deeper into the quagmire.

Iran vs Iraq is a very good example how the post world war implicit colonization of west has wrecked this region. I am sure you wont deny the obvious which is US helping the dictator saddam and wanting to hurt Iran through proxy. Just go back a little bit in the history you will find many analogies-Why north and south korea were at logger heads and let us keep in mind the korean war of US.
As to these exagerrated impact of current conflicts I only want to say what Graham Fuller the vice chairman of CIA told in his report,which is this

Islam is purely unscientific and based on primitive Arab political system. Its a copy of Judaic texts which Mohammad claimed as Islamic and he inserted himself as the Prophet. how can Islam support science when it claims the world started with Islam in the Middle east and there were so many prophets who came with messages?? there were no prophets in Incas Mayas China Greece or even Indian civilizations...Islam stifles great civilizations like Irans and Egypts and made them into bloodthirsty jihadiests....it broke up India and Pakistan today degenerated into a terror hub with 40000 madrassas where they teach how to kill Hindus jews and Christians..but Balaord the Islamic propagandist will have us believe otherwise.
