Iran vs Iraq is a very good example how the post world war implicit colonization of west has wrecked this region.
I am sure you wont deny the obvious which is US helping the dictator saddam and wanting to hurt Iran through proxy.
Just go back a little bit in the history you will find many analogies-Why north and south korea were at logger heads and let us keep in mind the korean war of US.

As to these exagerrated impact of current conflicts I only want to say what Graham Fuller the vice chairman of CIA told in his report,which is this
