hey buddy,
what do you mean by Non Resident Non Indians? You probably don't understand that NRI's are more loyal and more patriotic than people living in the country. DOnt forget that India got its independence because of an NRI (Mahatma Gandhi).

If you did not mean to mock NRI's in your post, please ignore. I may have misread the post.

Cheers,
NRI

you write "NRI's are more loyal and more patriotic than people living in the country"
hahaha.. what a joke. so NRI love their country so much that they left it for good!!! seems like weird logic. truth is that when they reach their destination, they find themselves out of place because of accent and behavior... and then remember india back.
and dont copare NRI's with gandhi..gandhi didnt do it sitting in south africa. he came back, gave up his pleasures, belongings, even clothes and realized his folly that he was living in wealth when india was so poor. are you ready to do that? if yes, i will take back my words

Mr.Nitin don't make any comment about NRI without knowing the facts. It is true that NRI is more patriotic to India. Just understand the contribution of NRI not only to India but to the development of the world. In USA and Europe Indian origin people are the heart of economy. Just do some research and get some knowledge before making rubbish comment like NRI is out of place.

sir,
this is the most foolish remark i have read..plz don't mind. i am electronics engineer from top college and i decided to stay back, i cud have also left for usa..nowdays it is no big deal..but i decided to stay back.
are you saying that those who left their motherland for money are more patrotic than likes of me??? what is this perverted logic?
and it is true that NRI's feel out of place untill they are not american/european born and bought up. ABCD's are a totally differetn story..but it is true that indian brought up people find it hard to adjust because of accent and behavorial difference with natives.. and that is when they remember india

nitin,
i think it depends on what u define as patriotism. is it love for the country? if so i think every indian has it regardless of whether he is staying in india or the US. if staying back in india solely counts as being patriotic then i think ur grossly mistaken, in most cases people migrate because of a better life which unfortunately isn't available in india. trust me we love our country as much as u do and we have the same values as we do and unlike u we actually think about the country much more than u do which is probably the reason why there is so much influx of money from NRI's to charitable institutions. if we weren't patriotic i dont think we wudve cared for poor people in india wud we?? if india had better opportunities and lesser competetion do u think people would leave...i dont think so...not all people who migrate are motivated solely by money...it is wrong to categorize people that way...it is a factor though for sure...just a thought!

I believe ppl have more trust in outsiders... so called NRI. They have forgotten that who dont have trust on their own contrymen then they also dont have any rights to say againts them.

Dear Ashok,
I don't think it is to do with where you live. It is true that life in India is difficult than elsewhere. But, isn't it because it needs more development? All developed countries had several hundred years of independence. The political system in India is still relatively small. We are still going through social reform. It does take time for all this and many Indians living in India are trying to do just that. They are fighting back with whatever skills they have. And yes, many NRIs love their home country as well. They are helping us to achieve this goal. The only problem is many NRIs think patriotism is all about supporting Indian cricket team, following Indian culture and hating the culture in their resident country. Only a small percentage of NRIs are truly giving their dues back to India. Others are merely busy with their own personal problems. This is true about Indians in India as well. Just merely working in India doesn't make you a patriot. If you are corrupt and involved only in your own welfare, you can't be called a patriot.
