The hatred in this discussion board is both nauseating and shocking. Part of what makes India so great is its history of tolerance. What these hyper-nationalists seem to be missing is that they are as bad as the Jihadis they are abusing. If the answer to intolerance is more intolerance and ignorance, then its not really an answer. Or an improvement.

Well maybe you find all of what is being written enlighening, but I certainly don't. That is not to say that all posts are in bad taste. And where did I oppose freedom of speech? All I am asking for is that think before you speak. If you are confident that you could say these things freely in front of everybody (who know your name and address), then go ahead and say so. But my guess is that most of the people writing these inflamatory comments are closet machos who would never utter these sentiments in public.

well good for you. Bur as a wise person once asked, 'what is truth?' You might be surprised at the responses.
All I can say is that I have Muslim friends and they are not intolerant or Jihadis. People seem to be painting everyone with the same brush.
There is no doubt that horrible crimes have been committed in the name of Islam. But crimes are committed by criminals and it does not matter which religion they profess or what they use to justify their crimes.

No, I am not advocate tolerating murderers and criminals. I am not advocating a soft state. I am not saying that if a Jihadis comes around with a gun, do pranam in front of him and let him exterminate you and your family. I am not saying any of these things.
All I am saying is that hatred is always bad. Focus on what makes you great, not on the base instincts of humanity. We have to build a new India based on prosperity and the rule of law. If someone commits a crime for whatever reason, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. Law is based on accountability and justice, not on revenge.
What you seem to be suggesting is settling historical scores. That is revenge and can only lead to anachy.
There is a big difference between being tolerant to a legitimate religion and opposing a hate cult. Islam is a hate cult and deserves to be opposed.
Have you for one moment wondered why people on this board don't show any hatred towards other ideologies/religions? The founder of Islam had no respect for the religion and culture of the Arab pagans and Jews in Mecca and many muslims regard him as the model citizen (al-insan-al-kamil).
Tolerance towards other religions and cultures is an Indian virtue. However, any religion that believes in its inherent supremacy and encourages hate towards disbelievers does not deserve to be tolerated.

Why people bring other religions, when the discussion is on this forum is Hindu and Muslim? You are not aware of complete idealogy, like many people, you are just taking few lines which was selected by Bajrangis to degrade Islam. May be they might think that succeed in this, believe me, it is impossible, Look at US, it has done a big mistake by putting its hands on Iraq, US economy has gone to dogs, no wonder China in next few years, China takes over US and US would be like another Soviet Union. Mark my works, US has done a tactical blunder by getting into Iraq, it is costing them billions and dollars and they have know Idea about its future.
