what was the verse Noel.. u know u will b lambasted by feminists for writing all this.. though u r correct to a certain extent. though i do not like stereotyping woman as such but there is unnecessary feeling of competing inculcated in women as a sign of liberalisation. Why women have to prove in every sphere of life to compete with men and do everything what men can do, to prove they are really liberated. I think Western men have very shrewedly encouraged this idea in women to their benefit actually. Why never men were asked n encouraged to do whatever women can do as a sign of being really liberated men. See the hypocrisy n bigotry..

the verse is "shoodra, ganwar, dhol, pashu, naari, ye sab taadan ke adhikari" means lower caste people, illiterates, Drum(instrument), animal and women, they all should be under surveilance all the time....your point is very valid but the thing is that western women have the confidence and ego to carry themselves even without a man in their lives....where as Indian women they need a man but want to portray an image where they are seen as independent and emancipated.....its a fact that more girls in India than boys are induldging in pre marital sex, they have to understand one thing and that is that whether its the knife falling on a pumpkin or the pumpkin on the knife...what gets sliced is well known....

Knife and pumpkin - nice metaphors there, noel :) May be an apple would have been better than the pumpkin. Yeah, the knife always goes in.

I wish Mr. Noel had shown more sensitivity to the issue. Rather than launching a testortone laden tirade against women and generalising and trivialising, he could have tried to understand, that it was an individual who committed suicide and not the entire female gender.
Even men soldiers commit suicide, but do you start blaming the entire male gender and label them as nincompoop?
After ages of suppression, Women are striving to come to terms and try to live as equals with men in the modern era, I think, we should be supportive of them and not belittle them for not being equal to task matching men in mundane tasks.
Bet Mr. Noel cannot match women working in the kitchen, raising a family, nourishing, cherishing, caring, keeping the family together.
Mr. Noel, let us look at all the good points in women and ignore those little things they are not good at. It is nature. We are good at certain things, they are good at others. So why trash them?
I say aye to all those women who wish to join predominantly male dominated fields and hope conditions are made conducive for them to succeed. And also hope they do not get discouraged by senseless verbal putdowners against them but take it as a challenge to prove the entire world wrong.

I appreciate it Mr. Parwez, I know women have to be there for this planet to survive and I dont want to belittle their contribution what I want to say is that why women dont understand their limits and agree to the fact that they are born emotional, they would happily go out with a guy who would after being with them come back to his friends and passionately describe them head to toe...I have seen these women and men too.....women cant bear the stress as effectively as men can....and yes apple is better suited than pumpkin and I can cook better than most Indian women...
