i really feel the need to pitch in at this time and give my personal opinion on this. I'm basically from Delhi but have been both in chennai and bangalore. No offence, but lemme tell u the reality. It does bite but u'll have to put that in ur pipe and smoke it.To be frank, bangalore is really an unfriendly state compared to all other cosmos in the world. Reasons Galore as to why it is. Plz look down . Its just my objective view since i'm from a different part of India. 1)People in bangalore seem to be takin up the cudgels for trivial issues when theres a lot to be developed in and around the place:For instance-the Hosur road expressway project and Metro rail which dont seem to happenin at a faster pace.Leaving all these issues they are bickering over a common natural resource. No one in this world can claim complete ownership of a natural resource. Its a shame in the first place fighting for that. 2)I was really embarassed as i was with a foreigner(our company's client) showing him places in and around bangalore. he really felt sick about the bad condition of roads in the first place. Adding to it the rolling protests on the roads must have gotten him on his nerves that he burst out asking "are they barbarians?are they not civilised". I had to hang down my face in shame. 3)when bangalore is really going places the issue which happened some months back about the govt stopping the education of poor children and making them sit at home without providing an alternative just because they were English medium schools. Does any company in this global era ask for kannada when one goes for a job interview. These politicians seem to have a say in all important matters including something which concerns a persons individuality which is not right. 4)Anything for the cause of Kannada ,these politicians seem to be raisin their voices just to gain political mileage. 5)Also they dont seem to put a friendly attitude towards neighbouring states as well blocking all tamil channels but acting quite contrary by remaking most of tamil movies. 6)Upendara who cant be considered an actor at all seems to have acted in a remake of 1960's famous Tamil movie Rathakanner and how about that running to packed houses. 7)They want box office hits by remaking tamil movies but block tamil channels alone. Is that not animosity towards Tamils who are really friendly and generous compared to these kannadigas. I've been in chennai for a couple of years and have never heard of or seen rolling protests in my life until i happened to c here when we keep bragging to the external world of Bngalore being a cosmo place 8)when it cant take a simple neighbouring states issue in its own strides how can it handle international pressures. Just coz IT companies are situated in bangalore , lot of people come here for job reasons otherwise whos gonna stay in this unfriendly, unholy place which is nothing short of a holy shit. 9)To conclude, the train blocking roko which happened here today was just a gimmick. The news item in todays(Feb8,2007) Times of India has definitely tickled my funny bone as the protestors ran for their lives when the speeding train from Mysore came approching near them. Some have even been injured thinking that the trains gonna come to a grinding halt. But the reality is the govt didnt really seem to have bothered abt the lives of agitators as there dont seem to be a proper communication. Its like this:politicains keep putting up this unfriendly attitude towards evry other boundary of masses , inciting groundroot people and instigating them and using them to their advantage. In reality their wards would be receiving education in a high profile foreign university and damaging hotels in and around bangalore like how the chief ministers son did it and got scot free 10)the lot from other places have to patiently endure all this just for job reasons and witness things keeping their mouths and a*** wide open

Mr.Rock, Your comments are in poort taste. I read you are a northie from your previous comment. 1) What is a trivial issue? Water is NOT a common natural resource. It is very precious for everyone and we are protesting the injustice. In a democracy everyone has the right to protest. Afterall, it was peaceful and no one was hurt. Just becoz there are a million other issues doesnt mean this is not important. 2). We dont need you client's opinion on how to behave. assuming he was a white guy, you should have asked him about their 'barbaric' behaviour, bombing innocent people in Iraq to take revenge on one man. The list is endless about the brutal and barbaric behaviour of the white man. Do you even know the meaning of barbaric? Yes, India has problems but that doesnt mean you have to be ashamed of it in front of a foreigner. Bad roads are not in Blore alone. Go to your own town in the North and i Can assure you, you will have even more horrible roads and very rude drivers. Be grateful you are in Blore. 3)You are so ill informed about what is happening in K'taka. Couldnt balme you, you read the Toilet paper of India (TI). They are fit to give you Page 3 info, nothing more than that. Schools that were given permission to teach in Kannada medium had violated the law and started teaching in English. They were getting exhorbitant fees from students and also getting aid and benefits from the Govt. The Govt is not againts teaching English but against schools violating the norms. Did the gOvt have any problems with other schools like the ones that have been teaching in english medium with valid permits? For once the Govt did its job and pulled up the violators. Even when the govt does its job(for a change) you complain and criticize becoz you are ill informed. Just becoz the stupid news media distorts the news, which they do every day, doesnt make it the truth. Please understand the issue before you start your rambling. If you dont have the time to read and understand the issue indepth, dont comment about it. 4) What is wrong in raising issues in favour of the local language? As for political mileage, everything in India is made into a political drama. The best dramas are of course enacted in your Northie cities. Do we need to elaborate on that?! 5 &6). What do you know about being 'unfiendly' to neighbours? We can block whatever channels we want. Is there a law that states we cant. That is a very benign way of protest. What happened to your Bihari brothers when they were working in Assam? 60 people were hacked to death for earning their livilehood. Now, Assam is an unfiendly state. Not K'takaka for blocking a few channels. You are not gonna die if you dont watch some movies or episodes for a few days. FYI, Chennai also has blocked Kannada channels in the past. Do your homework before you yap. You have no idea about movies. We can also argue about the n number of movies in TAmil that are remakes of Telugu movies and some Kannada movies. To give an example, Chandramukhi a superhit of Rajini is a remake of the Kannada hit Aapthamitra. Remakes are made in all lang, even your own Hindi movies have remakes from Southie movies. Somtimes the vice versa holds true. What is wrong in making remakes? If something is good instead of restricting the audience that enjoys it, you are making sure more people enjoy it. 7). Again, blocking channels is a way of protest. That is not animosity to the people. Animosity is what the ULFA showed to your Bihari borthers. If chennai is go great please go there. There are so many software co (assuming you are from a software co)in Chennai. We in Blore wont miss you. Talent is plentily available in India. You are not indispensible. 8) What international pressure are you talking of? Every city has its problems. What job reasons? If you cant tolerate B'lore nobody is forcing you to be here. You can always find a job in Chennai, H'bad. You have the audacity to talk about B'lore but have no guts to develop your nothie cities. Your politicians make your life miserable and you have the nerve to comment about a democratic protest in the form of blocking channels in Blore. You reek of double standards. 9) Ok, granted that politics is played at a very low and petty level. But your Northie land is not free of this. In fact more tamasha happens in your northie belt. Everyone knows that the hotel incident was a political drama with the opposition pulling the strings. Remember the episode when Laloo's daughter was getting married, Laloo's goons went on a rampage and broke down the Tata showroom and took away all the cars. Tata had to finally shut the showroom. This clearly had no opposition hand. I am not saying that politicians here in Blore are great. They are all the same wherever you go. But please be more mindful of what you say and dont bash Blore which is feeding you and your family. 10). Thanks for patiently enduring everything for the sake of your job. Try to make Blore a better place to live in. I appreciate you saying Jai K'taka rajya and hope it is genuine and a sarcastic one.

First, hats off Anand, you have a good career in Film Industry as a story teller..The greatest joke is that you have water is Not a natural resource....Then do you think you created water....
If we point some of the problems you divert it with Iraq and bombings..I AM SURE YOU WILL BECOME A POLITICIAN SHORTLY..WHO KNOWS YOU MAY BECOME THE CM ONE DAY...
Further, I wonder how much time you have spent on this matter..This shows you are on the lookout for a job or having lots of free time in your work..I am sure you are not using the net at your home or in cafe by spending money...

Mr Subramani, Read the comments properly. Water is NOT a common resource (yes, it is natural; read in context to what Rock has to say). If it was so common, we wouldnt have this argument in the first place. Thank you, the film industry is for churning future CMs for TN.
I am NOT diverting the issue. I am merely answering to the points raised by Rock. If you cannot understand the argument dont comment.
My points only show that I can comprehend what someone is saying and can engage in intelligent argument. In fact Rock has commented very little on the water problem and instead is bashing B'lore even though he lives and earns in Blore. He is the one digressing. Read the comments before you process it.
