Lemme chip in
by rock on Feb 08, 2007 09:16 PM

i really feel the need to pitch in at this time and give my personal opinion on this. I'm basically from Delhi but have been both in chennai and bangalore. No offence, but lemme tell u the reality. It does bite but u'll have to put that in ur pipe and smoke it.To be frank, bangalore is really an unfriendly state compared to all other cosmos in the world.
Reasons Galore as to why it is. Plz look down . Its just my objective view since i'm from a different part of India.
1)People in bangalore seem to be takin up the cudgels for trivial issues when theres a lot to be developed in and around the place:For instance-the Hosur road expressway project and Metro rail which dont seem to happenin at a faster pace.Leaving all these issues they are bickering over a common natural resource. No one in this world can claim complete ownership of a natural resource. Its a shame in the first place fighting for that.
2)I was really embarassed as i was with a foreigner(our company's client) showing him places in and around bangalore. he really felt sick about the bad condition of roads in the first place. Adding to it the rolling protests on the roads must have gotten him on his nerves that he burst out asking "are they barbarians?are they not civilised". I had to hang down my face in shame.
3)when bangalore is really going places the issue which happened some months back about the govt stopping the education of poor children and making them sit at home without providing an alternative just because they were English medium schools. Does any company in this global era ask for kannada when one goes for a job interview. These politicians seem to have a say in all important matters including something which concerns a persons individuality which is not right.
4)Anything for the cause of Kannada ,these politicians seem to be raisin their voices just to gain political mileage.
5)Also they dont seem to put a friendly attitude towards neighbouring states as well blocking all tamil channels but acting quite contrary by remaking most of tamil movies.
6)Upendara who cant be considered an actor at all seems to have acted in a remake of 1960's famous Tamil movie Rathakanner and how about that running to packed houses.
7)They want box office hits by remaking tamil movies but block tamil channels alone. Is that not animosity towards Tamils who are really friendly and generous compared to these kannadigas. I've been in chennai for a couple of years and have never heard of or seen rolling protests in my life until i happened to c here when we keep bragging to the external world of Bngalore being a cosmo place
8)when it cant take a simple neighbouring states issue in its own strides how can it handle international pressures. Just coz IT companies are situated in bangalore , lot of people come here for job reasons otherwise whos gonna stay in this unfriendly, unholy place which is nothing short of a holy shit.
9)To conclude, the train blocking roko which happened here today was just a gimmick. The news item in todays(Feb8,2007) Times of India has definitely tickled my funny bone as the protestors ran for their lives when the speeding train from Mysore came approching near them. Some have even been injured thinking that the trains gonna come to a grinding halt. But the reality is the govt didnt really seem to have bothered abt the lives of agitators as there dont seem to be a proper communication. Its like this:politicains keep putting up this unfriendly attitude towards evry other boundary of masses , inciting groundroot people and instigating them and using them to their advantage. In reality their wards would be receiving education in a high profile foreign university and damaging hotels in and around bangalore like how the chief ministers son did it and got scot free
10)the lot from other places have to patiently endure all this just for job reasons and witness things keeping their mouths and a*** wide open

Jai Karnataka Rajya
