Akshay, its the same Con-gress who had opposed the Nuclear Test in 1998. They had pulled in Media and NGO's and whtever they could have done to oppose NDA. Now the same Con-gress talks of development and energy requirment. Opportunistic??? So as per your standard con-gress tops the list in anti-Indian to be specific. Right???

I think you have got confused between a nuclear bomb and nuclear energy. the deal is centered around the nuclear energy to generate more power to meet the current shortfall which is important for the industrialisation and growth of our economy. Oil reserve is decreasing, and nuclear energy is the feature. deal is not stoping us from making bombs. it just means don't make bombs from the uranium we supply, but u source ur own and make from it, we dont mine. India has developed a sound technology to make nuclear device which might not require feild testing, but can be done in the labs using super computer like the other developed countries do.

There are opposing what they had started.( by A B Vajpayee). They are opposing the deal in present form is because, the goverment has managed to negotiate a better deal than what the BJP would have settled for at the time it started the negotiations. After testing the nuclear device it was on a weaker gournd to bargain, in veiw of the sanctions and isolation. They just can't accept somebody doing one better than them. Its just opposition for the sake of being opposition. Its like letting two cats fights while monkey steals the bread.

The way American administrations treated BJP leaders when BJP was in power was in sharp contrast with the way they are treating Congress/Commies now. They gace LOTS of respect to BJP leaders. Remember, American senators even called our then external affairs minister Mr. Natawar Singh as being "dense"? American presedent used to come out and meet Mr. Jaswant Singh when he used to visit White House! So thats the difference. World respect the powerful and insult/humiliate the corrupt. Americans know very well how to treat corrupt Congress/Commies! I salute Americal for identifying who or which party works in Indians interest. What I fail to understand that how come Indians after 60 years of independence don't understand that there is NO future with Congress/Commies being in power. Very difficult to understand this !!!

From what I read earlier, it was admitted by an US spokeswoman(sorry, forgot her name), this is the best that US got. I felt at that time that perhaps, BJP didn't cave in as much. May be I am wrong !!!

Its because we cannot test nuclear devices. Clearly that condition is against national interests?
