The heading of the news item its elf is rahter vague.Does peace really prevail? Doughtful.
The incident of communal clashes in Mangalore is not fully reported. There is more than waht meets the eye. The communal tension has been simmering since long. It has been covered with the wet grass of minority appeasemnet policies of the Congress Governemt knowing very well it will one day go up in flames and engulf the entire community and the country. Now a spark in the form of a vehicle carrying cattle illegaly to slaughter house that set ablaze the animosity.
As long as the Political parties continue to follow the discriminatory policy of minority appeasement, the innocent people will continue to suffer at the hands of Minority community. But one day the table might turn and the consequences could be ctastrophic. Political parties, which thrive on vote bank without giving any thought for the general good of the state and the country, will have to be blamed. But, as the saying goes \\\" the people will get the government they deserve\\\"
So, when you go to vote for next election, \\\'think twice before you cast your ballot\\\'.

I beleive what you are saying is absolutely right, Karnataka deserve whats its getting because we people choose the govermnent now we are suffering by the govt.
This votebank politics is leading us no where, Supporting minories and they are backstabbing them. people cant be blamed on the same, its the whole system which should be blamed, we should have only two parties in the country and election should be done evry 5 year only. There should not be a system of ally cause such kind of alliance are leading us to undeserving trouble.
I still fail to understand why govt still not reacting to the situation, and i beleive being a damocracy we all have right to throw out such govt.

Not Appeasement of minorities but the bullying of majority. Minorities have no support from Govt.Police or any governmental agencies, The ugly head of communals like bajrang dal must be crushed if not the country faces difficult challenges in future. we are heading greater catastrophes.

You are partly right and partly wrong in your observations. One, it is true there should be uniform civil code for all citizens,so that in a given situation one does not feel discriminated vis-a-vis the other countrymen only on grounds of religion. Second, more dangerous is the encouragement given to religious militancy and these outfits moving in the garb of political party/groups which should be stopped at the earliest. If this is not done at the NOW it could be me & you and our families at the receiving end. Its only a matter of time...
Peace will prevail. Stop cow politics

It is really shocking such communal violence happening in a city like Mangalore. As far as I remember last major violence happened after Babrji Masjid demolition. After that there is no much violence leaving some minor instances. Off late, we are experiencing the influence of Bajrang Dal in the city and this is causing all the problems. Ban on cow slaughter is one of the reasons for it. We never heard of any violence due to cow slaughter till this was banned few years back. Not in the last 35 years that I have been living in Mangalore.
Mangalore population consists of 50-60% Hindus; rest 40-50% consists of Muslims and Christians. Everybody has a right to do what they want and what they want to eat. Why ban cow slaughter? I don't understand. Muslims don't is pork meat that doesn't mean you ban pigs being slaughtered. Let people of Mangalore decide what they want to eat. Politicians / political parties cannot decide what people of Mangalore should eat. Do not impose a ban on and fight for silly things and harm this rather peaceful city. Though Mangalore people are highly educated, but people who indulge in such communal activities are uneducated people and doing this under the influence of political parties.
If Mangalore has a dominant minority population why shouldnt they support the minorities? Do not blame minority community or government policies against minorities.

Mr Hariraj, you have very lucidly given your side of this communal issue and proven that india is falling apart because of racist and unsecular people like you. At such a difficult time, instead of threatening about what people should deserve, you should go for councelling and cure your racist ideologies and solve your own communal problem.
im saying this only for your own good. Learn to be a nice human-being and start acting like a true indian. Jaihindh.

Was this a case of minority apeasement Harihara??? Well you gone out of your head and are commenting out of the context of the topic... You too seem to be the one of them who is flaring up communal riots... I do not understand why and how Bajrang Dal activists get these vehicles on right time and not the police.. Why wasn't the police tipped off... Are the Bajrang Dal activists above the law?? Or was all this pre planned to flare up??? I guess harihara is from these polictical parties... Your statements are politically motivated.. Now if you had information about al this why dont u write it. Instead say the topic is wrong... I doubt your intellegence(if whatsoever litlle u have)..

I totally agree with you. congress government's minority policies sent india back more than 60 years. this is not the case with mangelore only. everywhere, whenever congress government has came minority policies have effected india badly. Even though supreme court has spoken serious words about illegal cow slotter, central government has failed to follow supreme court because of minority policies and specifically because of muslims. But congress government has to realize that muslim policies are causing gujarat, maharashtra, assam and j&k problems for themself. Congress has done nothing but promisses on paper without giving responsibility to anyone. so please carefull next time when you vote for any government. look at the background and what government did in past as well how effective is government fullfilling there promises.
