Shame & Glory
by Deepa on Jul 27, 2005 06:17 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

When so many Mumbaikars went through a traumatic time, the most shocking is that two of the biggest cell networks-- orange and bpl-- crashed first in an emergency, and 24 hours later are still down.

Large parts of the suburbs were without power for over 24 hours and not one Reliance helpdesk was functioning.

Thanks are due to the much-criticised MTNL, which did not fold up completely and saved the day; and much gratitude to the excellent work done by all the local FM stations.

Deepa

Dear Deepa,
The crash of communication was real shocking.
But thankfully in my case it was the ORANGE network which helped....It was fully functional (both incoming and outgoing )all through the disaster. My experience with MTNL (which even we till now felt was the most reliable) was not very encouraging and its network crashed right through Wednesday.
Hope your day was not very bad.
Vineetha.
