Who the hell are these kiranas to dictate to the ordinary consumer whom to buy from? If I am spending from my own pocket, then **I** will decide whom I want to buy from, and no kirana should be dictating that to me. If the kirana wants my money, then he should offer me more value and make it worth my while. Violence has become the universal currency of the incompetents who don't want to offer enough to the consumer. You cannot dictate consumer loyalty through mob action and intimidation. That's why India is an underdeveloped country. Because those with least ability/value are able to dictate to those with most ability/value. You cannot dictate to me which restaurant to eat in, or which store to shop in, or which music to listen to, or which car to buy. If you want my money, then give me more value -- don't give me your kirana-dictatorship.

I agree with you cent percent, but don't find it the right reason to blame India, being under developed country, for it.
Where ever supper markets went, they faced the same problem. I know, the opposition of it in USA and in UK, for sure.
And, i guess, the way western countries are opposing call centers in India, we can easily conclude, if it hearts anybody, he or she is bound to cry.
Nevertheless, I agree with you on our right to spend our money on the place of our choice.

very well written! in a democracy consumers must have a choice. for centuries consumers have been exploited by the kirana-guys and its high time a better deal came to them- thru the big retailers. the model has already been tested abroad. there is no reason to wait or dither! except the bloody politics. sometimes i wonder whether its the boon or the bane!!!!

well the power lies in action and sanity. so efficaciousness lies in what we do . that is stop buying from these incompetent and still audacious kirana stores and supporting the economy by spending our hard earned money at worth while places .

What you have written though correct is of no use. Because the readers of this message are consumers like you and not the kirana store owners. You probably need to channelize your energy at right place. No offense meant
