If some one is thinking that billing rate of Wipro and Infy is less then you are mistaken. Some 3 years back for a project I took few outsourced engineers from Wipro they used to Bill 4500 US$ while working in India ( $ was about 45 rupees) and on foreign location the expenses were extra. Of this was not a bulk deal but just experimental deal so that would fluctuate rate a little bit but overall for the skill sets and knowledge level for initial few engineers this was too much.
Senior Engineers ( 6 to 7 yrs exp) touted as experts in particular areas were actually heaving just black box testing in those fields. Indian service industry people say they reply on breadth of experience rather then depth but I never realized before how shallow the depth is .I am still in touch with these guys and interestingly they have become managers in various companies owing to vast breadth of experience they have :-)
Indian Service companies have invested almost zero rupees in R&D and creating solutions. Instead they preferred to sit on Cash mountain. This cash mountain made balance sheets look lucrative so the promoters and ESOP holders at very senior management level were able to mint good money in stock market. if there is some problem today it is just because of poor planning and risk hedging done in last 10 / 15 years.
Greed has no bounds Enron management has proved it , I feel Wipro / Infy and TCS are also in same league

What is the salary of a person working for these companies and who are there clients any idea. I would like to know since I have lots of friends here in UK whose work has been outsourced to India.a desk top engineer who just installs and configure PCs at the lower end earned 3200 U.K pounds which works out at 2,642,397.08 INR. I wonder what the same person gets in India and how much are these companies in UK saving and how much are the workers being milked for.

And the working time is 37 and half hour per week with 8 bank holidays and 6 weeks annual leave. over time worked at the week end is paid at twice the hourly rate. working for Saturday 7 hour you get paid form14 hours. i bet the conditions in India are worse then these.

High salary in UK in terms of Rupees means nothing. You have pay about 30 percent as tax. Then your tiny flat cost you 70 percent of your net income per month. You end up with such a small money you have to count whether you will drink tea or coffee to save money. People in Britain are really poor, they dress poorly as they cannot afford better. I have worked for an American MMC in London, I had to go there at 7.30 in the morning, I had to stay until 10 pm. I had to take work home for the weekend. There is no overtime. even then they can sack you because your unit may not be earning enough profit. They take bllod out of you in UK. Indian living standards are much better. In UK, they are at all educated. Most programmers do not know any mathematics at all. They may not have even ordinary graguation degree from a college. Most of them are high school graduate with one year Diploma in IT. They cannot do anything related to mathematics, that is the reason they give these projects to the Russians/Indian/Chinese.

well said man. Indian companies are good in body shopping. Though these companies have got lot of money, they never tried to invest in R&D, instead they look for more more projects...
