I would wish to say that Infosys had adopted a ridiculous policy of recruiting based on the academic record, which appears quite bizzarre.
There may be many students, who do not secure good marks in school or college, but highly talented.Recruiting employees based on their academic scores is not the way to recruit people.
I would have appreciated if they conducted analytical, reasoning and problem solving tests for recruitment,as they are the real basis on judging the real capabilities of students.
And moreover,I just cannot believe the number of people they are recruiting. Its more like a herd of cattle than anything else. And I also wonder, about the profits of the company in hiring so many people.Infy only managed to get in to the billion dollar earning companies ,a few months back and they already have close to 53000 people?

well i am a fan of infy for wat they have created in india. but no doubt tht infy's recruitment policy sucks. they just give a apptitude test and any one who clears it get through after a small talk with HR. and let me tell mr pai that ppl do cheat a lot in thier test to get through. they hire ppl who dont have any talent, have never studied in college, but think they know all and deserves very fat packages. and when they dont get what they dont deserves they curse their own infy like any thing. i think infy should make their recruitment a bit more strict.

I toally agree to what vijay has to say...recruitment policy should not be only based upon the academic records...because there are people who score high but only has therotical knowledge which is byhearted which is easily possible in the type of environment our universities work...they do not have any practical knowledge...and on the other side there are people who score average but are good at analytical thinking and practical stuff...so the HR department should definately go with the people with practical knowledge as that is wot is required ultimately....

RE:But how many quit?
I will like to answer some of the rubbish allegations against Infosys: Manisha says: 1) I think Infosys should think that of many of them are on bench. ---
Sid:: Who is she to comment on company policies??If infy is paying all the peoploe on bench then what is the problem with this lady??
Why they ask to appear for Aptitude even having 8 or 9 years experience people. It means those who don't have aptitude are not able to work?
Sid:: Infosys does not ask you for aptitude test if experience is more than 4 years. If you do not know the internal processes in infy, pls. do not post such rubbish things on message board.
Foolish fundas they use so i alwya hate their recrument process.
Sid:: Again who is this lady?If she is having some commons sense, she would not have said like this.Infosys does not care for such type of attitude.

Yes. Their recruiting policy is highly ridiculous. I have been through it. The marks card is the only criteria, no matter the candidate doesn't have even a little piece of brain with him, only such people are preferred. I also know quite few guys who are simply doing useless stuff there only because its Infosys.

Hi Vijay, It is NOT a ridiculous policy. Have you ever had an opportunity to interview any potential candidate at an entry level or even at a lateral level. You should understand that we are talking about science and not arts, where the judgment on abilities depend on your ability to get good scores in your graduation and a secondary method to validate the basic aptitute is through some basic tests. There is no other magic or science by which you can make your judgement - when people have to work on complex projects for different countries under strict timelines. Hence reserve your unqualified comments for future!!!
