I think Gavaskar is on some mission to take on Austrlaians.Firstly he takes on there sleding and manners and then taken to Darek crookes with Childish comment and then went on back to say sorry.I think he didnt learnt any lesson from that. Can anyone refreshed Gavaskar mind its he along with RAvi shashtri who interviewed Greg. Why cant he take the blame when pointing figners on others> He only do one thing better commment/writing column never he serve indian cricket with coaching or taking any job but ready to grab job if offered by ICC.
I agree partially with Sunil here. Greg got a reasonably performing team and failed to improve it. Yes players perform in the field, but that is just an execution of strategy made by players and management. Greg could win the respect of only 2 players out of 15 selected to the team. There was fundamentally something wrong in his approach, he failed to understand India and team India. Of course he is not the only one failed in making the winning team, selectors, board, players and all other decision makers have to go through the filter to identify the faults.

Indian team was too skewed for a straight-thinking Greg. Thats the reason for the mishap.

Partially agree with you. But I don't think Gavaskar played for his own self. When he was the captain of the Indian team, he demoted himself to no.5 or 6 which was in the interest of the team.
On the contrary, you ask Sachin to bat at no. 5, he will be disappointed and will prove that he cannot bat at no.5.
Gavaskar just said what players couldnt say due to the media gaga.... Q1 What has gavaskar to again out of this.....he is in contention to be the coach if he wants..????so why will he burn his own hands by telling the truth to dumb INDIANS.
Q2 Ask yourself ...was India that bad before chappel became the coach.....i mean exit in the first round from the world cup and championstrophy exit at home????????? I DONT THINK SO....
Q3 Was the team divided like this...... I DONT THINK SO.....
Q4 WE WENT CHAPPEL WAY FOR THE CHAMPIONSTROPHY....DID WE GET ANY RESULTS...???? I DONT THINK SO....
Q5 Was PATHAN and Sehwag our leading performers ...??????? YES
Q6 Team will never be united.....? Thanks to DRAVID AND CHAPPEL.
1.Ganguly,Yuvraj,Sehwag,Pathan, Harbhajan,Zaheer you call that a group?
2.Sachin,Agarkar..
3. ANYWAY U LOOK AT IT....DRAVID ONLY FIGURES IN ONE GROUP ...THATS DRAVID AND CHAPPEL.....thats what i called groupism....if 10 are united and 1 is with the coach...thenhe has a problem...
DRAVID the reason y India will never be united under his leadership.
Q7.DONT BE DUMB.....READ WHAT GAVASKAR SAID....WAS THERE ANY SPECULATION...........U DUMB FOOLS??????

you need to go back into time and consider the victories--sachin and ganguly are not superstars who can take the country and the team for a ride--if both players have contracts and are hell bent on holding their places in the team in spite of indifferent performances and attitude, why blame rahul and Greg--is the skipper not performing--is he hiding in the dressing room, refusing to open as ganguly did, or being obstinate in only opening like sachin so that he could score when field restrictions are in place!! Be aware of facts before you pen something which makes no sense.

odi winning average diff ganguly and dravid is only 1% while ganguly led team for 146 ois dravid only 63 matches ganguly was captain for 5yrs while dravid not even 2yrs

All media speculations. Discussion are eyewashing experience sachin and ganguly are main culprits for wc debacle. and there were huge public opinion against sachin. But strong mumbai lobby will never let down theirlocal hero. and vengasrakar wanted him to captain. resting ganguly and sachin is eyewashing exercise. And many ex cricketers, media cricket experts had not guts to spaeak against these 2 super starts. the lack of commiment , passion , poor body languge or groupism or petty politics played against captain and coach.. both ex captain are fighting for captaincy behind scens. so they have to prove dravid is not good captain . but dravid started well wining 18 odis in chasing and won test series in WI , histoirci test match win SA, and odi sereis in WI.Chappell report was right in pointingout these dressing room politics and some players undermine dravd's captaincy and not to led by skipper . As per some news report tendulkar and ganguly had last laugh that they got rid of chappell and next terget is dravid Indina express poll 75% favoured dropping sachin and ganguly for odi series against BL But this did not bring any laurales to ex captains.they are looser b'cuz there is no guarantee that sachin ganguly will play next WC and in many public polls more than65% voted in favouring the bcci decision to rest superstars while dravid's supports to retain him as captain increased even after ongoing dravid bashing articles.. 80% of cricket associanton (survey in ndtv) supporte dravid. 50% voted for dravid in IE express,. IBN CNN survey 86% ppl voted for dravid..48% voters is voted dravid to be captain by big margin. .cricketvotes.com Sachin may be living legend but he is no more bigger than team or game SL is playing superb cricket None of senior player /ex captain m envied mahila%u2019s his promotion as captain From the outset they gave unstinting support. they remained hungry to perform and did not rely on reputation or popular support to protect their places. Ganguly and sachin are considered better odi players than dravid but had advantage of opening and play more balls tandulkar calibre players should be able to play in any position and dravid played from No1 to 7 as per team requirement dravid is still ahead in ICC odi ranking, also finised 10krnsn, highest no of fifties, highes catch holder, also nominated for icc odi team for last 2 yrs

The team is not united because of Dravid. But because of his captaincy. Dravid deserves to be the captain. But people like Sachin feel inferior to play under him. People call him technically sound, perfectionist, a true Indian cricketer, which he is jealous of.
It is no need to appoint a super special coach to the Indian cricket senior team. Because they won't change according to the views of the coach. So what we do is to appoint such a coach like whatmore or moody to coach our youngsters ie,below 20 year group.

ashis, both gavaskar and shastri are basically politicians and anything they say or do has to be taken with a ton of salt. when gavaskar criticises chappel i strongly feel he has some hidden agenda of his own. one thing is clear. gavaskar, ravi shastri (and these days even bcci) DONT have the interests of indian cricket at heart. all these fellows have to be sent out if indian cricket has to make ANY improvement

ravi shastri was a women chaser during his playing days &still remains the same.it is advisable to the players to remain away from him during his night time revelling, specially yuvraj beware.
it's amazing to hear one of the legends of world cricket telling us about a position he so far didn't dare to take it.even a layman can tell us that it's not the coaches job to perform, ultimately its the players to performhe contradicts himself when telling us that "Tendulkar Is A Great Batter".then why Tendulkar needs Chappel to tell him what india need from him?.personnaly he is close to sachin thats y he is telling these craps about chappel.personal grudges wont help to win 2011 worldcup.wake up and do some thing useful for indian cricket.we salute u then , Little master.
You are the only indian who has the guts and the glory to bring back the Indian Pride which has been sold in the black market of politics and greed...today the indian cricketing pride is drowned in the durty drains flowing thru the souls of the non cricketing mob, the media, drivid and chuppal...I have not seen any other indian with your kind of honesty and love for Indian cricket ...I wish you luck in your journey to expose the truth behind this durty world of indian cricket...it high time you abd kapil took matters in your own hands but in the end of the road dear sir you might see that the indian mob has ditched you inspite of your sincere efforts to resurrect indian cricket ...I am feeling good this morning having read your article on chuppal

YES... GAVASKAR WANTS TO MAKE A BACK DOOR ENTRY INTO INDIAN CRICKET SO THAT HE CAN FIT HIS SON INTO THE INDIAN TEAM. ROHAN GAVASKAR IS NOT FIT EVEN FOR SCHOOL CRICKET. THAT IS WHY HE RAN AWAY FROM MUMBAI AND SETTLED IN W.BENGAL. GAVASKAR IS A SHAMELESS PERSON AND HE HAS NEVER EVER PLAYED FOR THE COUNTRY AND HE HAS ALWAYS PLAYED FOR HIS PERSONAL MILESTONES.
REMEMBER GAVASKAR HOLDS THE DUBIOUS RECORD OF HAVING PLAYED ALL 50 OVERS IN A ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL AND SCORED JUST 38..NOT OUT.
THIS IDIOT IS NOW TALKING OF CHAPPEL. HE WAS IN THE SELECTION COMMITTEE WHICH SELECTED CHAPPEL AS THE INDIA COACH. WHAT WAS HE DOING THEN ????
WE SHUD NEVER ALLOW GAVASKAR TO COME INTO THE MAINSTREAM OF INDIAN CRICKET. THEN INDIA WILL NOT EVEN ENTER THE WORLD CUP GROUP. INDIA WILL HAVE TO PLAY PRE-WORLD CUP MATCHES TO QUALIFY FOR A WORLDCUP BERTH IF GAVASKAR IS MADE THE COACH OR PUT INTO ANY SORT OF POST.

Mate, what did u have for breakfast this morning? Gavaskar is the most selfish player (closely comepeted by Ganguly) tohave ever played for India. He's got a lot of guts running his mouth but just like he was with a bat in his hand, he is defensive in deed. He never takes achallenge but always talks about them. And who thought India was gonna challenge Australia for the world title? Get real Pal!
Gavaskar seems to protect selfish interests of players. Greg Chappell wanted a younger team but Dilip Vengulakar, and selectors went ahead for experienced players (they are most sought after by advertisers, sponsors, etc). Instead, they were knocked out in 1st round of world cup. For example, Saurav Ganguly batted against Bangladesh for 66 runs on 129 balls but it is rumoured that he stayed on for longer due to his contractual endorsement than he should have made quicker runs. How did Gavaskar justify his comments? I respect Gavaskar for his outstanding batting but he is not sensible.

Lack of commitment, fighting spirit, negative body language, playing for self recores, to cement place for next matches, sponsers, poor fielding, trying to expose each on the field, promoting groupism etc.. Has coach told instructed for all these?? chappell's big mistake was he treated all players alike, equally and push the players from comfort zone. many superstars were taken their placed for granted.... winning and defeat depends on performance of XI players on the field irrepective of coach, captain, pitch and conditions. SL is playing superb cricket None of senior player /ex captain m envied mahila%u2019s his promotion as captain From the outset they gave unstinting support. they remained hungry to perform and did not rely on reputation or popular support to protect theanguly and sachin should have fought battle on ground rahter in dressing room both may successful to get rid of chappell but both players may not play WC2011
